Episode 15: Best Sub Unit Songs​

Welcome everybody. This is Episode 15 of Stage48 Countdown. On this episode. We look at the best sub unit songs.

From your big units (chocolove, No3b, WH7, French Kiss, Not Yet, Team Surprise, DIVA) two your one shot/Single. These are the best songs. First up. The Usual Honorable Mentions. Here they are.

Now let's get to the countdown. First Up

10) Ashita wa Ashita Kimi ga Umareru (Chocolove from AKB48) (46 Points)​

In at #10 is the very first song from the very first Sub Unit Group. It's Ashita wa Ashita Kimi Ga Umareru.

Chocolove from AKB48 is a short lived sub unit that started in 2007. It had 3 members. Team A: Rina Nakanishi, and from Team K: Sayaka Akimoto and Sae Miyazawa. This song came out on June 6, 2007 and you found out it was a very nice sound and soothing sound.

The video had them around town and (Rina on the bus reading a letter, Sayaka bike riding, Sae running to somewhere). In the video you do have the eating candy (going with the Chocolate theme for the group). The performance is around a flood plain as Rina is in the center (pretty sure this didn't have a center thing)

They meet up and toward the end of the video. All 3 of the girls get shot by an unknown person. Sae is first to get shot, Followed by Sayaka, then Rina. I know what you are thinking to yourself. HOLY CRAP! But do not worry everybody.

They were ok. As you find out the "blood" was chocolate. As you see Rina, Sayaka, and Sae all tasting it. Yeah I know weird. You see a To be Continued at the end of the video.

Overall. The very first single from a sub unit was a pretty good song to start out with and it is kind of sad that you didn't see much of this group. Only had two 2nd singles, an album, and a DVD. All released in 2007. But I don't think we will ever forget them.

Without them, you wouldn't see the Sub Units we have today.

9) Hell or Heaven (Team Surprise) (48 Points)​

Coming in at #9 is a song from the 2nd Stage of Team Surprise. It's Hell or Heaven.

Hell or Heaven is a song from the 2nd stage of Team Surprise. The 2nd Stage of Team Surprised began in September 2014. At M07 of the Team Surprise 2014 was a song called Hell or Heaven. The Song was done by 3 members.

Those members were Minami Takahashi of Team A, Rena Matsui of SKE48 Team E and Nogizaka46, and Sayaka Yamamoto of NMB48 Team N/AKB48 Team K.
When the song came out. Everybody's first reaction was . Safe to say that it was very well loved. I'm one of those people. I loved this song as well. It had my SKE48 Oshi in Rena Matsui for one thing.

But also, that the song has a dark feel too it and that it should be the real theme for the next bond movie Spectre. You would have to agree that it should be the theme. No matter who they get for that song, we know it should be the girls of Takamina, Rena, and Sayanee.

8) Kibou Sanmyaku (WH7) (50 Points)​

The 8th Spot belongs to the girls of Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 and their song Kibou Sanmyaku.

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 is the 3rd Sub Unit of AKB48 (Chocolove being #1 and No3b being #2). It began with just 4 people (Mayuyu, Lovetan, Kikuchi, and Harugon) and over time became a 7 member group. They have the most singles of a sub unit with 10. Ending in 2013 (due to the fact that the girls were getting older, what I think).

They are also a revival of the Onyanko Club sub unit Ushirogami Hikaretai.

The song Kibou Sanmyaku is the 9th Single from the girls of Watarirouka Hashiritai 7. It came out on November 30th, 2011. Was also the 2nd single since they added the 7 to their name. This is also a theme for Shin Chan the anime series (which they did do an episode of btw).

Love that it was a theme for a season of shin chan (love that anime). ASSDANCE! ASSDANCE! Seen both version btw. Anyways, on to the video.song of this. The song has a little different feel too it, but it was the same old good thing from Watarirouka Hashiritai 7.

The video begins with a WTV News story as the girls are making their way on stage. As the song goes on you see the crowd inside the bar/restaurant having fun and dancing to the song as well. You do also see the girls in 60 style costumes.
They are also getting down to this song as well. Overall, Kibou Sanmyaku is a very enjoyable song from a very enjoyable group.

7) Omoidasenai Hana (French Kiss) (53 Points)​

In at #7 is in my opinion. One of the most beautiful songs on this list. It's French Kiss - Omoidasenai Hana.

French Kiss is the 4th sub unit to come out. Behind chocolove, No3b, and WH7. Beginning in 2010. It was another 3 person unit. It featured Aki Takajo and Asuka Kuramochi of Team A at the time, and Yuki Kashiwagi of then and still of AKB48 Team B. Now are all members of Team B.

Omoidasenai Hana is the 6th Single from French Kiss that came out on October 1st of 2014 and as a I said. It is one of the most beautiful songs on this list. It has that relaxing sound that just makes you feel good about yourself.

The video does also have Anna Murashige little sister and future 48Group Member (you know it's going to happen, both of her sisters well) Erika Murashige appear in the video. It's something that made the video just that more beautiful.

To me it's the best song from them and hoping they do release more stuff in the future before they graduated (Kuramochi being the first one).

6) Nanimori Kagkigoori (Not Yet) (69 Points)​

At the 6th Spot is the girls of Not Yet. Yuko Oshima, Yui Yokoyama, Rino Sashihara, and Rie Kitahara. This is there 2nd Single. Nanimori Kagkigoori.

Not Yet is the Sub Unit that started in 2011 and was the 2011 Sub Unit to start. Featuring girls from at that time. Team A Rino Sashihara, Team K Yuko Oshima and a girl who had been a full time AKB48 for very long Yui Yokoyama, and Team B Rie Kitahara.

First Song came out on March 16th of 2011 (5 Days after the Earthquakes and Tsunami in Japan btw) and the 2nd Single (the one ranked at #6) came out on July 6th 2011. The English title of this song is Surfing and Shaved Ice. Before you ask, yes it's a summer song.

The video has them working at a beach cafe while you do see shaved ice and we get scene of Yuko Oshima surfing (something she loves doing by the way). We also get some solo parts with all 4 of the girls. Something that makes this just enjoyable.

I don't about you, but I think this song she be on the list of those summer songs that you should listen to during the summer. It makes you love the greatest season of them all (Summer. Which is around the May-August route in Japan and where I live).

5) Kuchiburu Furezu (No3b) (73 Points)​

The 5th Ranked song is from the remaining girls of the AKB48 1st Gen. It's No Sleeves and their 7th Single Kuchiburu Furezu.

No3b is the 2nd Sub Unit to come from AKB48 and perhaps the most famous one of them all. It features what's now the last remaining 1st Generation Members of AKB48. Minami Takahashi, Minami Minegishi, and Haruna Kojima make up this unit.

They began in 2008 with their first single Relax. Which was also the theme for their awesome show they had (you know you love it.) called Mendol. Fast forwarding to 2011 and we get to their 7th single. Kuchiburu Furezu is one of the best song. The Chrous part is what makes it in my opinion.

They look very different in the video. While acting somewhat like criminals in the video. You see them planning something (with Takamina hold a marker as a way of pointing some spot out.) Overall it's a good video and the ending part is funny.

When you see Kojiharu and Miichan leaving while you see Takamina looking at the camera and knocking it out with her microphone.

The Song I said is something else. But it's something that we'd expect from one of the best in not the best sub unit of all time.

4) Kono namida wa kimi ni sasagu (NO NAME) (75 Points)​

The 4th song on this list is from the AKB48 Members that were voice actors in AKB0048. It's Kono namida wa Kimi ni sasagu the 2nd Single of No Name.

No Name is an unit done by the voice actors of AKB0048. The Voice actors I mean of are the ones that are from AKB48G. Nakaya Sayaka (Team A), Sato Amina (Team B), Hata Sawako (SKE48 Team KII), Sato Sumire (Team B), Ishida Haruka (Team B), Yagami Kumi (SKE48 Team S), Watanabe Mayu (Team B), Iwata Karen (Team 4), Mita Mao (NMB48 Team M)

As I said eariler. This is the 2nd Single from No Name going with the 2nd Season of AKB0048. Kono namida wa kimi ni sasagu is the ending theme for AKB0048 next stage (which is the 2nd season) while Omo Naki Sono Koe is the opening song (which is a couple song on this track).

Kono Namida wa kimi ni sasagu is in my opinion are very beautiful song. It has the girls on a spaceship while mayuyu's clone (I'm guessing) is sleeping. I love how well done this video is. So kudos to whomever directed this video.

The song as I said is very beautiful and releaxing. Somewhat can bring a tear to your eye when hearing the song. Sucks that we never got a 3rd single from these girls (and a 3rd season for that matter). Still hope though (we got a 4th season of Majisuka Gakuen).

3) Lost the way (DiVA) (82 Points)​

At the 3rd Spot is what I like to call Team Underrated, cause these girls were underrated. It's DiVA with their 3rd single Lost the way.

DiVA is another group that started in 2011 (along with Not Yet) it featured 4 of the most underrated girls in AKB48. Sayaka Akimoto, Ayaka Umeda, and Sae Miyazawa of Team K, and Yuka Masuda (the most underrated of them) from Team B.

Also features backdancers as well.

Lost the Way came out on March 21st of 2012. Keeping with the space theme. This one had it as well as this is a very dance heavy song. But it's with 4 girls who damn good dancers. There is a reason why they were all Team K Originals.

The song is very nice and soothing as one of things I love about some music videos is the close ups. We get alot of them with them. It shows how good they are singing by themselves. But also how beautiful they are (I'm a sucker for those) what can I say.

All in all Lost the way is a good song from these girls and was their last single until 2014 when they release their actually last single which was another good song in Discovery.

2) Relax! (no3b) (97 Points)​

The #2 is the 2nd Song on this list from the girls of No3b. It's Relax.

As I said earlier. Relax! is the first song done by No3b and served as a the opening them from their show that Minami Takahashi, Minami Minegishi, Haruna Kojima all had called Mendeol (the show you know you loved, admit it).

Relax! is one hell of a song. It serves as a good start for the 2nd sub unit of AKB48. Very cheerful song by the way. It's weird watching it now and seeing a then 20 Year old Kojiharu, 16 Year old Miichan, and 17 Year old Takamina. Its weird to see how much they have changed since then. It's a good thing.

While relax is one hell of a song. It's a very catchy song and as I'm typing this right now. I have the song in my head. That's how catchy the song is. The Video is pretty good as well. It has my usual favorites in music videos lol.

Relax! is the song that will never forget. Mostly with the fact that it's done by the last 3 members of the 1st generation of AKB48. This song will be perform alot in 2015 if what I think is true (all 3 members will graduate in 2015). The end of an era (the 1st gen). We know Takamina is (Kojiharu will soon) and I think Miichan will as well.

1) Kibou ni Tsuite (No Name) (114 Points)​

Taking the top spot is the 2nd song from the girls of No Name to make this list. This is Kibou ni Tsuite.

No Name's 1st single and the opening of AKB0048 1st season. While Yume wa Nandomo Umarekawaru is the ending them for the first season of AKB0048. Once again, the girls that make this group are.

While the 2nd Single had them on different teams. This one was with that team that they were (the names above me).

The Song, is just. plain. AWESOME! It's a very good choice for them to use this as theme. The Video is something else as well. It starts off with a little girl who sees an envelope as we see the girls on this glass like phone as it's something Star Trekish. (The Future Iphone lol)

Goes to show that we see the little girl goes from a shot of her to Mayuyu who's on some ship (another space ship lol) as we see the other girls as well. Going thru some sort of test or something. We fast forward to the end where we see somebody recording it.

Come to find it out the person recording it (who was in some suit with those kind of helmets, I forgot what they are.) But you find out it's Mayuyu. You see then how the beginning came to be. The end shows the good walking away while her shadow is dancing.
