    Stage48 Countdown
Episode 8: Best Homegrown Members of all Time: AKB48

Welcome to episode of Stage48 Countdown. I'm Forrest Fuller. On this weeks episode, we start our 4 part series of the Homegrown Members of all time. From Today till November 16th. We will countdown the Top Homegrown members of all time from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48. This week it's AKB48. So here we go. Before we go into the countdown, We show you the Honorable Mentions. Here they are.

    Honorable Mentions
    11) Tomomi Itano (99 Pts)
    12) Sae Miyazawa (83 Pts)
    13) Mai Oshima (52 Pts)
    14) Yui Yokoyama (47 Pts)
    15) Haruka Shimazaki (35 Pts)

Now without any futher ado. Let's get to the countdown.

    10) Yuki Kashiwagi (117 Pts)
Our first girl in at #10 is one of the lifers of Team B. Its Yuki Kashiwagi.

Joined AKB48 in December 2006. Her and Mayuyu became the leaders of AKB48 Team B. Her first single was BINGO which was the first time for some Team B members. Unlike Mayuyu, Yukirin's next single was Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008 as she ended up becoming a full senbatsu there and has been a senbatsu member ever since then.

Yukirin has kind of been the #2 member in Team B with Mayuyu being #1. In 2009 she was made captain of Team B (the first one ever) and she ended up being a damn good captain in my opinion. From 2009-2012 Kashiwagi Team B was able to stand with the Takahashi Team A and Akimoto Team K at that time.

Yukirin is also a good Solo Artist. In 2013 she released two singles. Shortcake (February 6th) and Birthday Wedding (October 16th). Both very good songs if I say so myself.

Yuki Kashiwagi is somebody who has never center a single (Yet) but she is one of the best members and helped make AKB48 what it is today. I think Mayuyu would be no where without her (same for Yukirin, as she would be no where without Mayuyu.)

Fun Fact for everybody. The first list with everybody over 100 Points as you saw with #10. 1-10 are all over 100 Points. Not bad I say.

    9) Minami Minegishi (128 Pts)
In at #9 is a 1st Gen Member who has gone thru it all. From being a Big Member, to hitting rock bottom, and now back as a big member and motherly like figure for the Team 4 Girls. It's Minami Minegishi.

One of the original Team A members. Miichan has been thru it all and she is still standing. Even after her 2013 Scandal. She was able to rebound from it. But let's talk about the MUCH better stuff from her.

One of the only members to have been in Team A, Team K, Team B and the only member to be A-K-B-4 and Kenkyuusei. Part of me would love to see her be in Team 8 before she graduates lol. She can have the title of being on every team. I can dream though lol.

Apart of the very first single (February 2006) she has been in over 33 singles (out of the 40 Singles all together) which is 3rd all time. Not exactly a center of the group, she has enjoyed herself in her almost 10 years of membership in AKB48. Like many of the senior members. She has been a big help to the younger generation (Like the girls of Team 4 for example) they have learned alot of Miichan.

    8) Haruna Kojima (129 Pts)
#8 is the girl who will one day marry Yuko Oshima (I hope lol). It's Haruna Kojima.

Another one of original Team A Members and founding members of AKB48. She is a girl that has always been one of the top members of AKB48. Always ranking in the Top 10 of every election. She has show that even though other girls have become more popular then her. She has been able to stay up there with those young girls.

Now the oldest member of AKB48 (Born on 4/19/88, same day as my little brother btw). She has centered 3 singles (Yuuhi wo miteiru Ka?, Romance Irane, and Heart Electric which was her first solo center) she has been in 38 singles (out of 40) and was in the first 30 singles of AKB48 (including Janken) her consecutive streak in single is something that will never be broken.

We have also found out that she is one hell of a janken player. She is able to read them and can tell what they are going to throw. Even though she hasn't won a Janken Tournament. She's done a damn good job of it.

    7) Rino Sashihara (135 Pts)
At the #7 spot is the girl who hit rock bottom and showed that Miracles do happen. It's Rino Sashihara.

Sasshi made her debut with AKB48 in October of 2007 and was promoted to Team B 10 months later. Ironic that at the time. You would have the top 3 members in the election on Team B. Not exactly a senbatsu member at first. Her First Senbatsu was Oogoe Diamond, then 10nen Zakura, and Namida Surprise before getting bumped down to the undergirls. Ranked #27 in the very first election by the way.

She was a Team B member until August of 2009 where she moved to Team A. Her time in Team A was pretty good as she was able to get even more popular even with an already stacked team. #19 in 2010 as she would in senbatsu and her full time senbatsu member with Beginner and the only time she hasn't been in a senbatsu now is the 3 janken tournament (one she didn't
    qualify for).

Her road to the top continued in 2011 as she was ranked #9 in the election and her breakout year was in 2011 as she was shown alot more with the other top members rather being in the middle of the pack member. She pretty much hit rock bottom in 2012 after the election (which still didn't hurt her as she moved up to the top 4) and she was moved to HKT48 because of that.

Also in 2012 she became a solo artist releasing two songs. Soredemko Suki da yo (On May 2nd) and Ikuji Nashi Masquerade (on October 17th) (w/AnRiRe)

But it ended up being the best thing ever for her as she was able to rebound from it big time as she has been able to help out HKT48 in a huge way and in 2013. She proved that miracles do happen in AKB48. She was #1.

Like Miichan, she has been thru it all. They showed that they are fighters and no matter what hurdle comes there way. They will break through it.

    6) Mayu Watanabe (153 Pts)
The #6 spot is the girl who has been an Ace since she started in AKB48 (From Team B, To Team A, To Team B again to pretty much AKB48). It's Mayu Watanabe.

Mayuyu is a 3rd Gen member who debut in December of 2006 and became the Ace of the Original Team B (Along with Yukirin). She made her debut in AKB48 single with Bingo (4th Single/6th Overall) and she was set as a Full time Senbatsu Member. Like alot of people, the only singles she didn't make were Janken Singles.

Somebody who has been popular since she begin in AKB48. She has been in the top 5 for all 6 elections Even being ranked in all 5 spots in the Top 5 (2009: 4, 2010 and 2011: 5, 2012: 2, 2013: 3, 2014: 1) pretty impressive if you ask me.

Her first center spot was with Acchan (her last AKB48 single) in Manatsu No Sounds Good and her first solo center was So Long in 2013. She has also centered the most AKB48 songs since MNSG. With Yuko's graduated, she has now taking the role of ace/center of AKB48 (along with Paruru, Jurina, Sayanee and Sakura) I think. With her being #1.

Like Yukirin and Sasshi. She is also a solo artist as well. Releasing over 4 singles. Synchro Tokimeki (February 29th, 2012), Otona Jelly Beans (July 25, 2012), Hikaru Monotachi (November 21, 2012), and Rappa Renshuu-Chuu (July 10, 2013).

    5) Sayaka Akimoto (179 Pts)
Coming in at #5 is quite possibly the hardest worker and one of the most underrated members of AKB48. It's Sayaka Akimoto.

Apart of the 2nd Generation and original Team K Member. She was one of the most talented members ever. She could sing, she could dance, and she could act damn good as well. Apart from Yuko Oshima. I think she was the Best Actress in AKB48.

Being a somewhat full time senbatsu member. She was in the first 5 singles (not counting the indie singles) before being left out (along with Mariko) in the 6th Single. But she returned to be in the rest of the singles of 2008. For some reason she wasn't in the first 2 singles of 2009. But the fans knew how much she meant to this group and she ended up ranked in 2009 (#12) btw. I mean we wouldn't have the funny ending in Iiwake Maybe if it wasn't for the fans lol.

Also in 2009. She became captain of what might be the greatest 48 team of all time. Akimoto Team K was legendary. Even though she had a scandal in October 2010 and resigned as captain. She returned to the captain spot 4 months later in 2011 (February). Cause even management knows that you couldn't put anybody else there.

Even at first in 2012. You could see Yuko when she became captain was at first like no no. Until Akimoto was smiling like it was ok. Also if you don't know the Akimoto legacy. Here it is.

Yuko Oshima - Team K Captain
Ayaka Umeda - Team B Captain and now Team BII Co-Captain
Sae Miyazawa - Team S Captain
Minami Minegishi - Team 4 Captain
Yui Yokoyama - Team A Captain and now Team K Captain

That's something. She left one HELL of a legacy and she is regarded as a VERY underrated member even after she graduated in 2013.

    4) Mariko Shinoda (221 Pts)
Coming in at #4 is that loveable big sis troll. It's Mariko Shinoda.

Mariko is a 1st Gen member...well sort of. As many of you know, Mariko was a part timer working at the cafe and hundreds of people wrote to AKi-P letting Mariko Audition. He allowed her to and she made it. The rest is history.

Mariko made her debut in Skirt Hirari as one of the back up dancers for the senbatsu. Her Official Senbatsu debut was in the very first single of AKB48. She was a full time senbatsu member right then and there. Only for Chance no Junban and Yuuhi wo miteiru ka?, she was in every single of AKB48.

She got her first center spot (a long time coming tbh) in 2011 with the Janken. Titled Ue Kara Mariko and it showed why she was something else.

Also known as a troll. I think you guys the stuff that the loveable troll has done. One of my favorites is this.

Always laugh my butt off when I see this. Poor NyanNyan lol.

    3) Atsuko Maeda (360 Pts)
Coming in #3 is pretty much the girl who this group on her back for 6 years and she is the main reason why AKB48 is where it is today. It's Atsuko Maeda.

A First Gen Member of AKB48 and the original Team A Ace/Center. Was only 14 Years old when she began her career in AKB48. She ended up becoming the Ace of the group before the first single (even though she didn't center the first song, Takamina did). But the 2nd Indie Single was her first single as a center (along with Takamina) and her first solo center was Aitakatta. Then you know the rest lol.

But overall she has centered most of the songs (coupling or single) and even centering theater songs as well. Her Centering count is thru the roof. Nobody will ever center as much as she did.

As you would expect. She was one of the most popular members ever. Her Election Rankings 1-2-1. She pretty much graduated on top. A Friendly rivalry with Yuko Oshima is also what made AKB48 what it is today.

Like Yukirin, Sasshi, and Mayuyu. Acchan also has a solo career. A Career she still has even after graduating in 2012.

Flower (June 22, 2011) and Kimi wa Boku da (June 20, 2012) were released when she was in AKB48 and Time Machine Nante Iranai (September 18, 2013) and Seventh Chord (March 5, 2014) were released after she was in AKB48.

    2) Yuko Oshima (367 Pts)
Coming in at #2 is that loveable dork who was a Team K lifer. It's Yuko Oshima

Yuko Oshima is a 2nd Gen Member and an Original Team K member. One of the leaders (along with Akimoto) of the Original Team K. She helped shape Team K to what it is today.

Around 2008-2009 was when the friendly rivalry of Acchan/Yuko really begin. As those two battle each other for the top spot for the first 3 elections. Yuko's road was 2-1-2 before she grabbed the #1 spot in 2012 with easy (Acchan graduating)

Nobody expected her to lose the crown in 2013. But she did which shocked everybody.

Heavy Rotation was very first single she centered and pretty much. It's now known as Yuko's song because she pretty much made that her own and it's now a legendary song because of Yuko Oshima.

Yuko Oshima was just a lovable dork and pretty much has to be one of the nicest people in the world. She cared about the members and most importantly, she cares about AKB48 in general as she is now a fan girl (along with Acchan and Mariko)

Up to the #1 Spot. Recap is above you.

    1) Minami Takahashi (417 Pts)
#1 is the heart and soul of AKB48 and AKB48Gs in general. Without her, we wouldn't have AKB48. It's Minami Takahashi.

A 1st Gen Member of AKB48 and another Original Team A Member. She is one of the best if not the best member of all time. Her friendship with Acchan is just something else as they were both leaders of Team A and for a time. AKB48.

Centering the very first single of AKB48 (February 2006). She ended up centering songs with or without Acchan during the early days of AKB48. She still was a big part of AKB48 when she wasn't centering songs (she still centered Team A Songs) as you still saw her in the front of singles and to this day you still see her there (even if it is 2nd, 3rd Row. She is still there.

She like the others, has a solo career. Sadly she has only released one single so far. But man that song was awesome. Jane Doe was released on April 3rd, 2013.

She is also known for giving speeches and leading the group huddles for both concerts and stage performances. This, among other things, has led to many fans referring to her as the captain of AKB48 (until she was promoted to be official General Director of AKB48 in Tokyo Dome 2012). She is even called "AKB's Papa" or "AKB no Tamashii" (AKB's soul).

AKB48 is going to feel ALOT different without her. Her graduation song might be the biggest senbatsu ever since she was close to ALOT of people lol. With Acchan being the center and putting AKB48 on her back, Takamina was the backbone of it and I think Acchan's success is helped by Takamina. Why it's awesome that they are really good friends (more like sisters you can say).
    ---------
Well that's our countdown. Takamina takes the #1 spot and I can see why people put her in the top spot. I think the top 3 could make claim to the top spot. There was a reason why their points were so far apart from the rest of the other girls.

Well let's begin Part 2 shall we.

BEST HOMEGROWN MEMBERS OF ALL TIME: SKE48.

Like with AKB48, these are the girls who made SKE48 what it is today.

These are homegrown girls. So they have to have come from SKE48 to be allowed on this list.

    Voting Begins Now
    Voting Ends: November 2nd

Is Nakanishi allowed? Technically she joined AKB48, but in reality she is as homegrown SKE as anyone.

    1. Matsui Rena
from last row in 2008 to double center SKE, she is one part of the center duo of SKE48 and she is more or less a big voice of SKE, always say outloud to management what the fans' wishes are to helping the girls backstage, she is always to support Jurina who is much younger than her, she searches for venues and talks to management to let SKE perform there, she is more or less the soul of SKE. Rena is very protective of SKE and is not afraid to voice her opinions to mangement, she is the bridge more or less. Rena's solo song in S3 Kareha no Station is regarded as one of the most important songs from SKE, ranking top in RH 5 SKE every single year and also the only solo song to be no 1 on RH 2 consecutive years and the only solo song to be no 1 on RH ever.
    2. Matsui Jurina
the immovable center of SKE, the wonder kid Jurina has been here since she was 11 with her being the one of the youngest ever but also she stood at the forefront of SKE with Rena to help make SKE what it is today, the no 1 of SKE. One of the best performers in the best performing group so that says something about how awesome her skills are. The future ace of AKB48G as she is still only 17 and she still has a long road before her
    3. Nakanishi Yuka
originally AKB's 4th gen but is with SKE since day 1 so she counts, Nishishi is one of the members who has a huge role in the backstage of SKE, with always supporting her juniors and being there for them. She teaches them how to dance, to perform and even if she doesn't anymore hold the official leader title in SKE, she is still regarded as being a very important leader of SKE
    4. Takayanagi Akane
The soul of KII, the team full of crazies in SKE, she is a outspoken leaders and was SKE's no 3 from Banzai to Kiss Datte, KII is Churi and Churi is KII, her speech in 2011 about wanting to have a stage for KII in the election is one of the most memorable and she is still a very important part of KII
    5. Sato Mieko
One of the 3 pillars of KII until her move to S in 2014, original member, though never in senbatsu, she's the oldest member of ALL48G and is a huge senpai and the mom of SKE backstage
    6. Yagami Kumi
the original no 3 of SKE, the young kid who charmed everyone and even though she graduated in 2013, she left a big hole that is hard to fill
    7. Matsumura Kaori
the one and only eternal KKS of all48G, she is neglected by management since day one and her skills and hard work and outspoken personalities turned to a superstar and the most special KKS ever, doing everything her own way.
    8. Hirata Rikako
the original leader of S and is a very important part of SKE until her grad in 2012, underrated and forgotton by many but nevertheless, she along with Nishishi and Mieko are big ori 1st gen members
    9. Kuwabara Mizuki
the originals Sasshi of SKE, always teased by others, very comical and her biggest achivements in SKE is her organizing dance lessons for her juniors to help them. Her role in SKE backstage is huge to every SKE fan
    10. Umemoto Madoka
original leader of E, her sacrifice for E and SKE should be known to everyone, she sacrified her college to improve team E and is regarded as one of the most important pieces of E

honorable mentions: Kizaki Yuria, Suda Akari, Kimoto Kanon, Mukaida Manatsu, Ogiso Shiori, Hiramatsu Kanako, Sato Seira, Deguchi Aki, Kinoshita Yukiko, Oya Masana, Shibata Aya, Hata Sawako, Yakata Miki, Ishida Anna

sorry for writing so much but SKE is my no 1 group so i just had to, lol
