[Subbed] Hinatazaka46 Shows Thread.

Why boycotting the captain? Why boycotting any girl, actually? Personally I find her PV one of the top 3 and her rap portion very good indeed. Now, regarding autotune, I admit I know absolutely nothing about the technology involved. Actually I have the impression that all girls are autotuned as few of them are really good singers or master (to some degree) the techniques required to sing. Especially singing while (frantically) dancing being almost impossible would make autotune the rule and not the exception.

So what would make Kumi's song not deserving attention because of autotune? Regarding understanding the lyrics, even myself a JLPT N5 Japanese learner, is able to grasp certain words. For a native speaker what is it so hard to understand?

So, pls, do not left captain out!

 

The person using the word boycott was joking. If something's really hard to translate (which is what it sounds like this is and not anything against Kumi), then that seems reason enough to put off translating it. Maybe there's a source for the lyrics somewhere that could he helpful. Because there's no dialogue, her PV is entirely a music video.

 

Look, I love Kumi a lot. She's my kami-oshi in Hinata but it's obvious that they were using the word "boycott" as a playful joke. When subbing, sometimes we don't fully understand words and we're not gonna sub those parts. A lot of us work in groups because what one person might not get, the other will. Kumi's PV is practically all music and would be the same as subbing a music video. I doubt it'll fully go unsubbed.

If they need extra help, I wouldn't mind helping out. Please don't take it the wrong way!

I am sorry for the confusion. I did mean it as a joke. I love the sub community for everything that they do and all the content they translate. They really are amazing. And I am in love with all PV subs as well.

Because the post before mine mentioned that 21 out of 22 PVs will have subs, I wondered who's wouldn't be subbed and why. So I jokingly asked if we were boycotting anyone.

I'm sorry it wasn't clarified.

By the way, I really love Kumi's PV.

Here's a tip for anyone using their subs (meant for 720p) on 1440x1080 raws. If you do a find and replace on 0,0,100,100 and change it to 0,0,75,100, you'll scale the subtitles appropriately. It's the same as Scaling X% to 75 in Aegisubs styles, but you won't have to do multiple styles that they use just replacing text.
