Hmmm I need to pick your brain.
I'm having trouble deciding on typesetting color for nogidoko ep180. For this episode I decided to go all out on the typesetting since it is the last nogidoko episode.
The episode uses nogizaka purple for Noujou and uses orange for Kawago. (for all of the on screen text)
But I thought it would be good to use their penlight color for their subtitles. Which mean Noujou is orange and Kawago is red. However this creates cases where Kawago's on screen text and Noujou subtitles will clash since they are both orange.

However if I go with their on screen text color, this means Noujou's color will clash with every other Nogi members translation since I just use nogizaka purple for everyone.

The other thing I can do, although will take a bit longer to finished the episode, is for every Nogi member, I'll use their penlight color even if it clashes with the on screen text for them. Every other Nogi girl is given the standard nogizaka purple.

recap: 3 typesetting choices
1. Use on screen text color for Noujou and Kawago.
2. Use penlight color for Noujou and Kawago.
3. Use penlight color for every Nogi member.

PS: if you guys are interested in the progress, we have typeset and translate and finished 1st round of QC for the first 15minutes of the episode.

 

I say option 1, and maybe use a slighty different purple for the other members? Just don't make things clash, because that's confusing. I also wonder how many people that watch it will actually know the penlight colors.

 

Don't use too much color. Members usually have 2 penlight colors, so maybe you can make a combination of it to make it not clash. Also, agreed with Sedi, foreigner fans are more likely don't know about members' penlight colors.

Aw, too bad. It's this kind of episodes that I really look forward to hoping to know more about Asuka. Hopefully someone will pick it up and sub it.
