[Subbed] Nogizaka Shows Thread

the problem is...
if theres Softsub for that vietsub..
it'll be a lot more easier to replace it with another language

but they don't provide it.. i guess

 

I actually have permission from one of the four big vietsub groups to translate their work (which is a lot that hasn't been covered by engsubbers).
But like @SilentBreeze says, hardsubs are a bitch.
And it's not that they won't provide the softsubs, they actually don't have them.

I do plan on tackling some of those episodes eventually, but only after I've run out of easier things to do.

IMHO its a wise decision so, their work won't be steal by the other (if they provide softsub, it'll be easier for THT kind of PERSON steal their works)
but its become difficult if we want to work together with them (by TL it to English, so their sub will me more usefull for the others [different language] )

 

Excuse my ignorance, but I don't understand why groups don't have softsubs or why they don't release them? Softsubs seem so much better for archiving purposes. Even some english subbers only release the hardsubs, why is that?

 

We usually have them, but as Silentbreeze mentioned it's often a conscious to decision to not post them. One reason is like they mentioned, there is the risk of someone else stealing and taking credit for them. While fan translating too is an act of piracy, it kind of sucks if that would happen to something you've spent a lot of time on.
Another reason is the softsubs don't always match with the raw you might have, so in a few cases it'd mean the subbers would have to provide that file too.

But!
There is always the option asking the subbers personally if you could receive the softsubs, in case you want to use them for re-translation or similar purposes. I'm sure most translators wouldn't mind.

The Vietnamese subteams was really active before and almost all episode of Nogidoko is subbed in Vietnamese. But it's not really there are no softsub, it's just that it was much harder to get RAW those days and they don't expected that other international fan would like to translate from their subs so they make it hardsub. It's just Vietnamese habits to watch hardsub.

I know those subber so i will try to get the softsubs from them, but i'm not sure if they still keeping it since it's mostly send only to the encoder

Honestly its still a new blog.
We want to fulfill every episode of Doko where theres no sub available for it (in English lang).
