that's really great that's the better rank she's gotton in a long time, isn't it? i think it is

 

After seeing her rank in the prelims, I figured I'd rather not be complacent and be happy with her rank so I put in a (yes, a) vote for her. I could only afford two votes and the other went to the lady in my avatar.

 

It is vastly higher than she has EVER received in the prelims.

In 2015 she got 6,866 in the prelims. (Prelim ranking 32, Final ranking 18)
In 2014 she got 8,114 in the prelims. (Prelim ranking 18, Final ranking 10)
In 2013 she got 8,750 in the prelims. (Prelim ranking 11, Final ranking 16)

So she is almost three times her highest previous preliminary total. I think she proves, more than any other current idol, that hard work and dedication to her fans is far more valuable than being favoured by management.

I've actually been looking at vote totals and year to year trends. Right now, Akarin needs around probably 80,000 to 100,000 votes to crack kami-7 at the rate of increase I've been seeing from last year. Sakura was at around 81,000 votes for 7th place. Dasu's vote count is generally around 43,000 and peaked to over 50,000 a couple years ago, between the years 2013-2015.

She would have to almost double what she typically gets to even meet our goal. Senbatsu is obviously happening by this point, but the start she's having really shows a wave of enthusiasm to push her as high as possible.

If Akarin pulls this off, it would almost be bigger than the winner of the election (unless Yuki or Sayanee won).

 

Well, she just made a miraculous comeback from last year. Looks like everyone who voted for people like Kaori Matsumura, Aya Shibata, or Oya Masana put their votes towards Akari and Jurina instead of Akane Takayanagi.
