Since I have barely anything to do with KPop, does anybody mind to tell me what this show is about and why Juri takes part in it?

 

I think this is the best English language explainer although it doesn't mention Juri (and it incorrectly spells the name of ex-NMB48 member Miru):

Personally to me, this puts a negative light on any active idol who is currently part of a group. Like, for Miru it doesn't matter since she's not in a group and she's not super successful as a soloist in Japan. However, Juri is part of an actively promoting group (and so are other contestants). Doesn't this feel bad to fans of Rocket Punch that Juri and Yeonhee are pursuing another group?

If the members are getting mistreated in their current groups, that's another story though. If that's the case with RCPC, someone please shed some light.

Hmm, I don't know. For those participants that are already part of a group; if this is new group would run next to their major group's activities and is more like a union that joins together for specific projects, all would be fine. But since there are participants who don't belong to any group, these members will actually leave to join this new project, but what is their reason? Possible mistreatment as Marlene said? No further, bigger future plans by their respective managements? Would really like to hear their reasons.

 

Queendom Puzzle is an Mnet show, like Produce was, so I'm inclined to believe they'll just join a new (maybe temporary) group, like with IZ*ONE.

It's more or less something like this -> sacrificing their current group in an attempt to boost their popularity/recognition once they come back.

If a group isn't doing well, survival program could be the answer.
I kinda feel bad not just for Juri but to those that are currently active with their respective groups too.
Both Cherry Bullet and Rocket Punch debuted on Jan & Aug 2019 respectively and (afaik) they haven't won a single music program trophy yet. No memorable hit songs either.
Weeekly and Lightsum are 2-3 years already. They were hot and upcoming when they debuted but the steam just fizzled down.
WekiMeki is going nowhere. Their last promotion is 2 years ago with a mini album.
WJSN is dying. Members are leaving and Starship is full focused on supporting their golden egg-laying hen -> IVE
woo!ah! is a complete nugu.

The soloists are basically up for the recognition.
