wait wut, i just fell in love with her again. 3 hours of this! wowowowow. i've been out of the loop cuz once hello online! stopped posting akb stuff and some hkt subbers dropped off i didnt see any meru stuff, much less 3 hours of awesomeness!!!

 

Anyone know anymore on this alleged bullying (or sabotage) that this article mentions (I used google translate to try to understand what happened), or if it's true? It's just shocking this happens if true.

Interesting find, thanks for the news. I would not be surprised if it was bullying and/or an AKB girl vandalizing things. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of AKB girls across all the sister groups etc. I'd be surprised if all 500+ (whats the count now at anyways 800?) girls were perfect angels. My guess is that there are bullies within that mass of 800 akb girls. I dont know which girl would be ballsy enough to mess with Meru BUT it may be just one girl who is a total jerk who went about randomly or even targetting girls she didnt like. If you remember years ago, one of the AKB girls did a porno after she graduated, so there will be bullies, jerks, and girls with mental/social issues in that huge mass of 800 girls.

You're right, with that many girls, it's bound to happen even more at a handshake event when they all come together I honestly thought that at the most there would be "cold shoulders or evil eyes" being tossed around, not actual vandalism or stealing

Well the linked twitter post says 11/30. So its been out for about a month now.

 

It says 11/30 but it's the january 2018 issue, I don't know how that works so maybe hasn't been released yet?

is there still hope for another MeruMio center?

 

I wish... Meru has lost her momentum long ago, and although she did improve a lot and has been getting more opportunities lately, still not enough, specially with all the new talents in the 4th gen, and Mikurin’s sudden rise... as for Mio, she seems to have lost momentum as well, with not as much going on for her either... I’m just glad the pair MeruMio has been revived and we get to see them interacting more... if there’s a team shuffle, I’d like to see them on the same team, I think early team separation was not beneficial for them at all, they were stronger together...

 

I fell in love with HKT because of Meru in Hatsukoi Butterfly. That girl was just too pretty. That smile and eyes and the way she danced were just breathtaking. Too bad she was not in the center anymore and 12-byou is probably the last song I really like from HKT. Not too fond of the front girls of HKT lately. I understand Sakura is extremely popular and I can totally see why. But really, HKT has always been Meru for me. Now that I've moved away from HKT, I can look at her as if an endearing parent supporting her daughter from away.

 

It was the same way for me! I fell in love with Meru in Hatsukoi Butterfly as well, her charisma and genuine smiles were very captivating! I wish she would’ve achieved more, but I guess from the start she had a lot of pressure and big shoes to fill in being called The second coming of Jurina, and all the Haruppi storyline... I think she did a great job as center though, and I don’t see why management would keep trying the same strategies over and over again, instead of giving more love to the girls the fans are most fond of... hkt48 has many talents and yet we only see a handful of girls being pushed...

Anyhow, I hope 2018 is a good year for Meru, now that she is turning 18, is a decisive moment in her idol carrier and I’m hoping for a refreshed and happy Meru!
