The 2012 Stage48 Member Ranking

Well, it's that time of the year again! Ok, a little bit late, but here's the annual forum-wide member ranking again. 2012 has arguably been the most eventful and important year for AKB48. Their dream of reaching Tokyo Dome, a dream since 2005, was achieved, that fateful 1830m crossed, Acchan, our beloved ace graduated, and the 2nd chapter of AKB48 has officially begun with new members rising up to help keep AKB48 as strong as it ever was.

Given all that, this year's ranking should be more interesting than ever to see who ranks up and who ranks down. If you've only joined stage48 in the past year, here is how this works. Please rank your members, from your favorite to your least favorite. Or, rank your top 20 members at least and put them in the form below.

This is a point system, with your oshimen getting 15 points, your 2nd favorite getting 10 points, and so on. Points will be tallied up and the member with the highest amount of points will be stage48's 2012 Member of the Year.

Rules/Directions

Voting Period: January 12th, 12 am PST to January 26th, 12 am PST​

1. Members with 50 posts and above can participate. This is a higher requirement than the song ranking, because liking members is a very different than liking a song. A person is a lot more involved and deep than a simple song. Ideally, if you're giving members points, there was some facet of her personality that you liked, and you would've liked to discuss on our forums to learn more about her before you decided to support her. If you do not have 50 posts yet, there is still time until the deadline. Don't spam the forums to get 50 posts though, those posts will be deleted.
2. Send me a PM with the two above forms with the point values assigned to each member. Click the button by my username. The list of eligible members is listed below, in the 2nd post. Use full names, first and last! I may or may not know the nickname of some girls, and some members share the same first name, so if possible, send me them exactly as written in the 2nd post.
3. Once I have received your votes, I will add them to the Excel document I am using to count votes, and your name will appear in this OP.
4. Do not reveal your rankings until the whole contest is over. It's more interesting to see final results without knowing what everyone voted for.
5. Ideally, you would use all your spots. There should be 20 members you like/are interested in, right?

There are sites that will help you determine the overall ranking, such as this one: http://akbranker.idolbarnyard.com/index.html. Use that if you can't decide on your top 20. There are also more frequently updated Japanese ones, but I don't know how to find them and would appreciate a link.

JKT48's 2nd generation and SNH48 members besides Miyazawa Sae and Suzuki Mariya are not eligible for the purpose of this contest because people have not yet had enough time to get acquainted with them to form a concrete opinion of their personalities/abilities. Members that graduated before 2012 are also excluded.

Since I've already started receiving PMs, please do note that the contest is technically supposed to start this Saturday at 12 am, and then go on for a full 2 weeks That was intentional, in order to give time to people to think about their choices Of course, there are always people that are already 100% sure of their choices, so those that already did PM me (you know who you are), don't worry, your vote will still be counted, but if any would like to think more and submit a revised ranking on Saturday, that would be fine too. We're asking you to send in a list of - at most - 20 members. You don't need to go beyond that.

Sorry about the confusion. But yeah, for the purpose of this contest, you can only give points to your top 20 members, and negative points to the 5 members that you dislike the most (if you do dislike any).

Of course, you can do your own overall ranking just for your information or for fun. I'm doing a full ranking just because I haven't done one in two years, but I'll also only be giving points to my top 20 members.

Also, for everyone else, I have received quite a good amount of votes already. I just haven't put them in my Excel spreadsheet yet, which is why no names have appeared in the OP. Expect me to update it soon though. And spread the word to any stage48 members you know in case they don't see this announcement!

It can't be helped it's also a secondary measure to make sure people don't get manipulative and try making multiple accounts so that their oshi's rank high. Plus by 50 posts you hopefully know more than 25 members, besides frontgirls that is.

its just recently that i become active in akb forum im just always reading
other people conversation in forum cause i thought joining them will be
awkward beside im an awkward guy in real life(and my english is not good)

Don't worry too much about being awkward or not knowing as much as other people. Everyone has to start from the beginning. As a forum, we hope that stage48 will be your main home for all things related to the 48 family, so generally, people are more than willing to answer any questions you may have or talk about whatever topics interest you. I know I had to be showed the ropes when I first joined 4 1/2 years ago, but I'm really glad I started interacting right away with everyone. I reached 323 posts within my first month here, and none of it was spammy posts either (as far as I can tell) And that was back then, when AKB wasn't even as popular so there was less things to talk about. With their current level of popularity, I'm sure there's many, many things you can discuss.

Looking back, my posting style back then is completely different than now and I've changed quite a bit, but because I started involving myself in the forum, my AKB48 fandom is where it is today. I mean, our forum thrives on the opinions of people regarding the always exciting world of AKB where something is always happening, so we really welcome all discussion, as long as it's within the rules.
