As an international fan, I would agree that Nogizaka gives me the feeling of being "Japan's top selection". I maybe a Keyakizaka/Sakurazaka fanatic (with Nogi and Hina coming afterwords in my heart), however I have a huge respect for Nogizaka girls, their journey through idol-hood and their history of hardship and joy.

Also: I do not understand why the negative voting: Giving a negative vote to a Japanese idol is like slapping a baby! Could there be any joy for that?

First, you are definitely free to give negative points and I have no qualms against that.

Next, I can't comment about Hirate since I don't really know or care enough about the Keyaki details.

As for Jurina, your reasons though. Even before she announced graduation SKE had already set the transition in motion (Jurina was excluded from the senbatsu of the single before her grad single, SKE was already using Suda more as the face of the group, etc), so the group wasn't really inconvenienced much whenever Jurina was, based on official statement, not feeling well. Her health condition the last 5 years or so showed that its reasonable to believe that she wasn't really feeling well and not just being picky with jobs.

If it weren't for corona, she would have already graduated last year at around late September.

Now, as to why she or management opted for a delay? Well, frankly, Jurina's grad concert was most likely the most relevant SKE concert in recent years and will be for quite some time.

Not having a concert will not only be a loss for Jurina but for the group.

So again, no problem with down voting Jurina, just the way you justified it though. Still, you're free to down vote based on misinformed reasons.

And at least she respected the group enough to graduate properly. I don't understand why you opted to give her the -5 over the one who, if I not mistaken, resigned instead of graduate.

At the end of the day there is really nothing too surprising to me in the results for the members I voted for. As for next year, I would really like to see 1) Zunchan reverse trend and climb back into the Top 100, and 2) Ranchan develop a following beyond, well...me

That is all. I will refrain from commenting on the whole negative vote thing since it has been well-covered territory over the years. I will just say that EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion, and nobody should feel compelled to explain their votes unless they want to.

    Thank you @Kuura

    My last 2 were:

    10: Hidaritomo Ayaka
    11: 8. (15) [23|0] [N46] Ozono Momoko{+130,0}, 130

Without my missed vote Hidaaya didn't even make it into the ranking at all.

My misunderstanding. It was clarified later.

I didn't downvote Asuka but let's be honest, she does have a… peculiar personality. Even she describes herself as having a bad nature. So I can totally understand someone disliking her.

I partially stand corrected, partly stand by my points.

I didn't say she was, just that she hasn't been given any opportunities in many years, which is exactly what you said too. Maybe she got opportunities beyond what her popularity would merit, yes, but that was years ago, back when AkiP was still involved, and we know he did like to do things ‘by feel’. Accusations that she got undue opportunities due to being the last OG are simply mismatching things in the timeline, these opportunities stopped long, long before she was the last OG.

Sorry, you're incorrect on almost all counts here. Where you're correct is she didn't ‘switch’ agency, as M&S has this weird system where instead of taking talents from other agencies, they ‘lease’ their contracts, so technically she's still signed to Ogi. The correct term is not switched, but was leased to… and yet, as far as management, it was a switch, so it's a technicality. And then, M&S is neither in any way connected to Ogi (it is a separate company, owned by different people in the same family — easy to verify by checking both sites) nor does it have anything to do with no3b except that all 3 members are now in M&S. BTW Nyan is not an Ogi lease, she's signed directly to M&S (along with Miion, Kato Rena, and Yumirin).

She very definitely has a new manager, too. There was plenty of reference to this new manager in 2020 communication.

She was already doing variety for months at that time. And YouTube.

I'm not so sure about that. The new Hinatazaka single is expected to sell more than the Nogizaka single. It's coming out in a few days, so we will know for sure if that is the case.

I think OP meant on this forum (bc in Japan it's been the age of Nogizaka for a while now lol). Hinatazaka had a great year but curiously enough it wasn't reflected on the rankings here.

    Anyway, my final list:
    01. Tamura Hono
    02. Morita Hikaru
    03. Kobayashi Yui
    04. Watanabe Risa
    05. Saito Asuka
    06. Ikuta Erika
    07. Endo Sakura
    08. Koike Minami
    09. Habu Mizuho
    10. Sasaki Mirei
    11. Kato Shiho
    12. Sugai Yuuka
    13. Kawata Hina
    14. Shiraishi Mai
    15. Yamasaki Ten
    16. Ozono Momoko
    17. Takayama Kazumi
    18. Matsuda Rina
    19. Hamagishi Hiyori
    20. Watanabe Rika

Won't list my negative rankings bc it's pointless to argue about them.
I'm pleasantly surprised by Momoko ranking this high, I do wonder if it's bc she's not getting a push anymore and people can't find reasons to dislike her anymore.

Hinata girls are too awesome to select a few. Personally I find it so difficult to oshi one. Especially among 2nd gen, I find them ALL amazing. Also Hinatazaka is maybe the group with the strongest "group-mentality" (and the only remaining that is senbatsu-free, thank god for that)...

P.S. IMHO this is largely due to the most amazing captain after Takamina. Kumi-chan is a true manager! I think she may build a strong career in any managerial post in any corporate environment. Such a great leader!

well, i downvote both of them because i know many of their fans will vote them and put them high.
    01. Kosaka Nao (-5) dont know why so many people too hyping her. i just find her boring.
    02. Watanabe Rika (-4) same reason with above but fortunately she not center material. if not maybe i will put her 1 insted of kosaka. i dont know why but i cant stand seeing her and people always praise her cuteness like she really top in term of cuteness in keyaki also when people said she can get away with everything just because she cute. maybe thats why she still with her characters even after several years on variety show. if not because of other members and MC, maybe i will never watch their show.
    03. Endo Sakura (-3) same reason with kosaka. i would not downvote her if she atleast throw away a bit of her shyness.
theres one more but i forgot to delete it because its just from my draft

i want to know the reason 3 of them got negatives vote. is there anything bad they do? may i? or it break the rules to ask this thing?

this also one of the reason i downvote endo. people really over the top with endo and regard her as the 4th gen ace and the face of nogi/4th gen while seems like forget about kaki.

may i know what asuka done that make korean fans angry and not forgiving her?

I wanted to vote for Yoko and she would probably rank higher than many of them. But as I was voting I thought: "Hmm... Maybe this girl deserves more."

It's an old thing and I think it's pretty much a fan joke by now.
In one of her SR when talking or asked about Izone she called them "those girls from korea". It was surely not malicious on her part but it's still a funny thing
(I laughed at @sambelteri12 reply at least)

    Hasemomo is soooooooooo 2021.

But if I was really cheating, Naru and Ayane would've been behind her.

Note to self: next time, vote for CGM.

Wow someone really gives a negative votes because "i don't know why so many people hyping her". Reveal your number 1 and i'll give her -5 next year just because you support her

This probs happens more often than you think. I've come to view negative votes as a strategic tool of this for-fun pointless contest.

Saito Asuka and Ikuta Erika had 0 negative votes last year, but of course they won last year so things changed.

Though I opened my big mouth last year and said I'd never use them again (I only gave -5 to Yahagi Moeka once) so I didn't give any demerit points to any of our cute female students.
