Crap, the Cubs are done. Congrats, Mets. Once again, the old adage 'good pitching beats good hitting in the postseason' proves true. I don't think many people expected this young Cubs team to go this far this year, so I still deem it a very successful season. For the 107th time, it's 'wait 'til next year.' I daresay the future's looking bright, but then again Cubs fans also felt that way when we had Wood and Prior, and that didn't quite pan out.
The Cubs win the NL pennant! Advancing to their first World Series since 1945! A team that last won the World Series in 1908 versus a team that last won in 1948. What a matchup.
My team bowed out early in the playoffs. Cubs would be a great story, but I'm rooting for the Indians. I'm also rooting for the Hiroshima Carp hoping to get a gleeful Himetan post if they should win out.

Cubs Win! Holy Cow! That was an incredible game. One of the most thrilling games ever played.
