Actually they have done this before. This is not really aimed at the international market. In China, you have to be seen to be big to be accepted as such. Companies will pull stunts like this so they can brag about it and show how rich/powerful... they are. It is for Chinese domestic consumption.

Based on a Xinhua News report, SNH48 Group is preparing for a very busy 2017/2018 season.

Plans are for 8 new ORIGINAL stages and 10 EPs (brigning their music catalog to around 800 songs).

They will also be working on some new music with Swedish, American, and Dutch authors as well as beginning exploratory work on sister groups in Chongqing, Chengdu, and Wuhan.

 

hopefully they plan on including loooots of sister group songs. gnz48 has so many talented girls in there and snh stages in general have always been among my favorite to watch

Holy cow!! I hope these girls get plenty of rest and watch their health if they will be super busy as reported.

 

Remember SNH48 Group is now four groups (SNH, GNZ, BEJ, SHY) each with several teams (approximately 200 girls in all). If you spread those numbers around, it actually isn't all that big.

 

The "Detective Samoyeds" drama on Youku which involves Ju Jingyi of SNH Team NII has accumulated 1 BILLION views since it debuted about a month ago (average 150 million views per episode) and the series is only halfway through!

 

Meanwhile SNH are shooting their summer single in Australia.

SNH48 Team X will have an exchange stage with SHY48 Team HIII.

Team X will perform in Shenyang on March 29 and 30.
Team HIII will perform in Shanghai on April 3 and 4.

Can I have the source that SNH group is officially breaking from AKS?

 

It doesn't exist. The ONLY thing we ever had was two messages. One from AKS saying SB was in breach of contract and as a result was pulling promotion and reviewing relationship and one from SB saying they didn't break the contract and were always an independent entity. There was absolutely nothing else officially announced in any way. Everything else is circumstantial.

Not saying the relationship isn't dead, just that there is absolutely no official announcement to back it up.
