    I just got back to my hotel room and turned on the TV and I'm seriously floored. NHK World had a live shot of Shibuya AX and it looked fine. CNN says it's an 8.9, and there are major tsunami warnings for surrounding islands and countries. Is Yuka still doing work in Guam?

    Chilean one was 8.8, this one is (up to now) 8,9... so I guess it is very serious. =/

    PS: Performance at the AKB48 theater are suspended.

    Tsunamis coming from the northern or eastern part of Guam do not have a great effect to the island.
    So don't worry.

    If you ever travelled by bus on a very very bad road and sit up... well... it is like that only this time it's the whole floor the one moving.

    I've only experienced one earthquake, and it barely happened. Toronto doesn't have earthquakes but we had one in the... summer? Some of my stuff fell over and I totally felt it, but that's it.

    I can't even process this right now. I'm so tired but @___@ I can't... look away... ;_;

    Chikarina has an ITOH communicate cancelling presentations but I guess she's ok.

    I'm still worried but apparently Tokyo is ok.

    Members of the forum living in japan are ok?

    Ppl living in SE Asia, be careful. I just heard the news that the effect can be felt until all part of Indonesia. First impact is going to be felt at eastern part of Indonesia (Pinoy fans, be careful) at around 18:00 +7 GMT.

    Still hearing the radio news.......

    The tsunami is expected to hit Australia in about 6 hours, but they're doubtful it'll be anything dangerous by that point.

    Isn't it the north of Australia, so wouldn't it have to go past Papua New Guinea before it got to Australia?

    North-east Australia. A tsunami isn't just a giant wave, it's an increase in sea level, so it can still "hit" somewhere even if there's something in front of it.

    Once I read (COULD BE A BLATANT LIE) that when the seabed is "high", what you see it's a wave in the "Surf 'up" movie style, and the worst hit is when it crashes... And when you have deep seabed, it's a raise in the level of water all around and the worst hit it's when it "returns".

    I'm a little bit worried even Malaysia didn't get any warning.. There is a possibility that my country will be hit by tsunami (based on world map) but in a small area which my sister lives there right now.. I hope nothing bad happen.
