I don't understand about this. Maiyan just promoted an alcoholic beverage (Kirin), yet she was one of the representatives for the Sakamichi audition that is targeting girls between the age of 12 and 20 - and, except on the high end, they're underage.

Umm...this really scratches my head.

I did hear that the age of adulthood in Japan is reducing to 18 (is that true?), but I'd like to see the alcoholic beverage age either stay the same at 20 or increase to 21 (much like here in the USA).

Most of the West has drinking age at 18. Drinking age at 20 or 21 is just stupid if you are supposed to be an adult at 18. If you're old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to drink.

"I went to a fight the other night, and a basketball game broke out" (with apologies to Rodney Dangerfield)

The game was never finished, but it was official.

"The game was paused in the third quarter following an incident involving several players from both teams that needed additional review from the game officials. After review, four players from Australia and nine players from Philippines were sent off the playing area. Play continued until the Philippines were left with only one player on the court.

As a result, the Philippines lost the game by default according to Article 21 of the Official Basketball Rules. The game score shall stand as at the time the game stopped (53-89) because Australia was ahead in the score."

P.S. Japan also advanced after finishing third in the group behind Australia and the Philippines.

Japan is recording the most severe rainfall of the year across the whole country. Some of the prefectures has already accumulated it's yearly average precipitation within just this past week.

The Japan Meteorological Agency also just released an emergency warning and advising many prefectures to prepare for evacuations for mass landslide and flooding.

Southern Indonesia such as Java, Bali, & Timor are experiencing "winter" now.

In Dieng Highland, temperature of yesteday night was 5° and the region was "snowy".

There were some fake news that anomalously low temperature was caused by Aphelion, an astronomical event which The Earth is in its farthest point from The Sun. But astronomers have denied it. The low temperature was caused by winter in southern hemisphere such as Australia which air pressure getting higher due to cold air and is implying winds to bring cold air to Indonesia causing the Indonesian Winter.

Well, another astronomy related fake news. We got another reason why astronomy should become a compulsory subject in schools.

Iirc this is the only song which made me shed a tear.
I really like Yuri Nakamura's voice at this pitch. It's angelic. :omg:
Too bad they didn't do more of such songs.

It's shocking to see how high the floodwaters got in some places. :shocku:
The topography of the land makes flooding vulnerable.
    Mountains and valleys.
The rains falls on a larger catchment area. The water landing on the mountains have no where to go but down, and all the water gets concentrated in a smaller area in the valleys.
Austria had similar flooding in the past.

Sad to hear over a hundred people lost all because of the rain. :(

Anyways, I was thinking...can we relate Yurina Hirate to Elon Musk in some way? And what Pokemon is best suited for Mai Shiraishi? Very random fun on a couple of popular Sakamichi girls.

2018 World Cup will end next sunday. Non football things that we can learn:

    • Granit Xhaka avenged his father who was imprisoned by Serbia during Balkan War.
    • Iranian ladies got freedom as they now can wear as they like.
    • Japan shows to the world what Bushido is.
    • France should never let Le Pen from ruling the country. France is nothing without immigrants.

These cave systems are not meant for normal folk to be in.
It is dangerous even for professional explorers.
In open space in canyons, when there is a flash flood, the water levels rise when the water reaches a narrowing, and those caught will have to climb up the sides to avoid being swept away. In caves there is nowhere to climb up when the water reaches the roof.
Hopefully the Thai naval seal hero :worthy:'s death was not in vain.

This is not the first time.
    It has always been so.

I don't know. If the weather forecast was heavy rain and he decided to take the children to the cave some parents might believe he was imprudent...

Perhaps. Especially if the parents' relief turns to anger later, or if the kids develop some form of post traumatic stress disorders.
But if there is another case, the next guy will definitely get his behind badly screwed, as there won't be any more excuses.
