We won't hear anything else until it's re-announced in 2021.

And then nothing again until 2026.

And so on for the rest of time.

I am so sad that this is all happening. Ma Chia-Ling already has been a member of Team B for a year now. I too am surprised we still have at least 6 KKS left.

We probably have no Taiwan KKS left by now, but management has neglected them for so long that they probably don't even know they left.
    :hmm:

I still don't understand why the news about the Taiwan girls are posted in the TPE thread?

Like, they haven't said anything about these girls being part of TPE, basically because there hasn't been any news about TPE since it was announced at Takamina's grad concert.

For all we know, these are just Taiwanese AKB members like Macharin.

I know it's Zhang, but the pinyin names were given by TPE48 official facebook.
    Btw, Qiu or Chiu? :^^;:

It depends on where you are. Chen and Chan can be both related back to the same Chinese character but one is used with Mandarin and the other is used with Cantonese.

Even if pronounced exactly the same, Taiwanese people tend to romanize their names differently than people from the mainland. I don't know why, but it's probably for foreigners to be able to read them more accurately? Someone who doesn't know how to read pinyin can have a hard time pronouncing names properly, that's why Zhang becomes Chang or Cai becomes Tsai. A foreigner is more likely to read Zhang as Zeng or Cai as Kai, that's why, I reckon, Taiwanese people are using a more foreigner-friendly spelling.
Zhang/Cai are the official pinyin spelling of the names but Taiwanese people/celebrities use Chang/Tsai to make things easier for us, I guess.

By the way I used Zhang and Cai because they are very common and/or famous names but there are many other examples.

The Taiwanese system of "pinyin" is an older system developed by Westerners. The mainland one was developed by people during Mao' s simplification reforms. Taiwan wasn't part of Mao's reforms which is why they still use the older system.

Hence why it's easier for foreigners to read. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that!
