I don't think it's a waste, after all Yuko and Sasshi were variety idols. As long as she doesn't feel the need to force her behavior to fit a certain Idol path, I am fine with it.

Personally I think she is great in the variety section, even though she openly told us that's the role she intends to play. I don't know any idol good enough to know if her stage persona actually matches their real character, but at least Hattsu looks comfortable during the shows.
