No one mentioned the vote difference? Only 1394 votes separating Mom and Daughter. I knew they were close, but this close?

 

While I wanted Mayuyu to get first, I expected this to happen. I'm actually ok with her placing third. She looked completely carefree and just happy to be there. Her cheerful attitude made me at ease and if it was all ok with her, it's all ok with me.

Frankly, I don't care if she doesn't participate next year. I say that because I rather she continue to get outside work like in her current drama (whose ratings are unfortunately very poor, Yuko not doing much better). Plus, with the sinking ship that is AKB48, I'd like her to jump off and not be tied down.

I agree with everything.
The same goes for Sasshi for me. Both have so much work outside 48G, and 48G is moving into another direction, something I personally will most likely not follow very long.
Prefer seeing both of them forging a new life for themselves outside the 48G.
Mayuyu was ok with 3rd, sure she wanted #1, but I think she kinda accepted that it might not happen this year in advance, it reminded me of Yukos calm her last SSK when sasshi overtook her. So composed and without worry.

I'm proud of mayus growth since she joined AKB, without it she would not be anywhere close to what she is today, from an socially awkward weird girl to the wonderful woman she is today, for that I think we all owe AKB a thanks.

Even so there is a quite big chance this was Sasshis and Yukirins last SSK, so if mayu were to enter next year without them it would be an automatic win, and tbh she might just opt out of it then as well.

Will be an interesting coming year with so many potential graduations and changes.

Didn't mentionned it but it helped me accept her rank. To me, it's like a 2nd ex-aequo rank Anyway it was clear she didn't drop so hard that some ppl think when you look at the number of votes.

Some were talking about power votes etc. But I think that even if we would have preffered Mayu1st, we shouldn't seem too "embittered". Mayu got some nice power voting fans last year too, and I don't think this year was an exception. Anyway, Sashi is 1st, Mayu is 3rd (2nd ) and she will do better next year.

Most important thing is that she keeps advancing toward whatever her goals are.

My guess of her being ok with being number 3 is most likely that she wanted Yukirin to win. Probably she voted for Yukirin in secret for this sousenkyo. I wouldn't be surprised.

But Sasshi was too strong, and beat the strongest pair, Mayuki. I think this healthy competition brought to light how mature those three got. Mayu went beyond Sousenkyo now, like Acchan and Yuko in the past. She knows that the goal is to be a good Sempai for the days remaining, along with her beloved Yukirin. She doesn't hold to bitterness as she has tasted victory last year. But the love and support from fans is still here. Nothing has changed in their heart, and nor in her's.

Mayu has definitively entered Adulthood. She's in peace with herself.

 

I really like this! Not a fan of Mayu but I'm absolutely impressed with how much she's grown - just look at the contrast between her speech in 2013 and this year! She genuinely doesn't really mind being #3 for this year, and even cut her speech short. And her smile was blinding haha

But the most important thing is. I want to say thanks to mayu, especially for her smile (I watch her speech maybe for a hundred times ).. her smile was really somethin for me .. and i will never forget those smile, forever.
