Would a male 48/46 group work?

I was thinking about why doesn't Aki-P make a group composed of young idol guys. I know Johnny's groups already exist but imagine it on a 48/46 group modality... different generations, senbatsu, center, handshakes etc. like that happens in traditional female groups.

I am sure they would've already done if it was their intention so I guess why it didn't happen yet.

 

Well, they did OJS48 and Yoshimotozaka46 tho. Even though hardly classified as "young"

I understand AKB's sister groups partecipate with AKB girls on their works so it would be troublesome... but for example Nogizaka girls and Keyakizaka are two own different groups, there are no kennin position, senbatsu singles together or something like that.

And what about a third own new brand composed of young guys just to separate them completely from the 48/46 ones? Like, for example, a GNZ42 based on young male idols for a female public.

And it might shock you, but girls (and gays) otaku and public that would pay to see their crush or just support them, exist, and they're as crazy wota as male otaku... or all these Johnny's groups or succesful boy bands worldwide wouldn't exist. Taking it like a 48/46 group approach would be a cash cow to me.

Well @SteCola better this not happen on 48, probably the biggest 3d idol franchise.

 

it wouldnt work, unlike girl idol group , male group almost never graduate. the senpais a.k.a EXILE or Arashi or 3JSB or KAT-TUN will be there forever. Generations , Johny's West is growing but will never reach their senpai level. The Rampage or King&Prince especially got a boost popularity these days, but i doubt they will ever reach their seniors level.

and male idol group is more niche thing imo. building the image will be quite harder. its unbelievable to think how repetitive LDH(EXILE) dance style and Johny's outdated outfit but both of them still have a very large loyal fanbase. no hated to them i had much a respect especially i quite like 3JSB too.

and compete without being #1 obviously not in that guy mind kek.

 

I think competing with Johnny's would be the biggest hurdle. Had aki-p considered making one when AKB48 was very popular, maybe he would have had enough leverage to prevent Johnny's from blocking his hypothetical boy group from music shows.

I honestly think this might have had worked but if it will be done now, it might be a bit more difficult.

And yes, maybe giving it a different identity ala Nogi46 (Ikebukuro47 perhaps), might be better.

Then again, this would require a lot of effort from aki-p and I rather have him focus on 48G instead.

Hmmm, based on your observation how many of the younglings follow Johnnys and others?
A 1st year highschooler that I know even a fan of an "ancient" boy group now in their 40's. I don't know if that can be generalised tho. But if the future market is there, I think the idea already on the table for long.

let be honest, my kpop bias has very nice butt -prolly the best among male k-idols. his butt is even better than most of 48G girls (only sasshi and mayuyu who beat him lolol)
