at first she joke about that she has been using 'suchi' since birth, then she she said because it's faster to say (?) she told that Taguchi Manaka won't understand since she is just a little kid. lol
finally ,she just wants to spread the word because it's cute (she asked the audience first about it)

Congrats Moeka for being the center of the new (long-awaited) AKB single

I knew Moeka would center a single soon, although I expected that it would be the next one. But in a way, giving her center now might make more sense? First, there is her photobook being released soon, a center can help to boost her sales. Then, surprisingly enough, she is actually the AKB or 48G member with the highest increase of followers on Twitter in the past month. The site for stats gives info for past 60 days, Moeka gained 12,295 followers in the past 2 months. It seems that all the talks about her only made her more popular and more discussed. The funny tweet of Sasshi with Moeka's photo wearing the Sasshi shirt has also around 250k likes, that is huge (Sasshi's popular tweets are in the 10k+ likes usually). Another interesting thing when I searched Moeka's name in japanese on Youtube, she has videos that passed millions of views, with positive reactions (all japanese comments). This is quite an achievement for a new AKB girl.

Praises seem to be about visual and her personnality being interesting (the AKBINGO! video). There is definitely a growing interest in Moeka from non-fans which is something good for AKB (chances to turn non-fans to fans).

So I think this might make sense to give her center now, she has popularity since debut and there is a constant increase. I hope she will do well in this position and I hope the song will be good, please! I'm curious how it will be, and with all the talks, people interested in her, people against her, the long wait for this single, I hope all of this attention doesn't go to waste and the single will be really good! AKB really needs this! Also, they should make good use of Moeka's nice voice, hopefully ^^/

Omedetou Moechan!

Actually I'm kinda confused that people complain about her never being in the theater yet being center. Do she have a say in that since their working lives are fully scheduled by management, even more that she's under AKS?

How is every theater lineup decided anyway? I don't they just pick whoever's hanging out around Akihabara

 

Most of the white noise are from those dirty about her "scandal" and that she hasn't "earned" her way to center. You can sample that over at the main single's thread.

Putting that aside, there are very few candidates around who has the traits to really take on the center position
Moeka has lots of pluses:
- she can sing (not sold on the dancing yet)
- visually appealing esp. neck down
- knows how to fish
- the kawaii factor is there but yet has a 'gap' moe allure to her
- more importantly, she is ambitious and has the 'greed' to want to take the center position (no matter how hard she tries to hide it)

Though, in some ways, her appointment is a Russian Roulette bullet. It could be THE bullet that drops the sales ball (and her future forever)
- personally I thought they would've wait a bit longer before throwing her the center position
