Doesn't make an bit of a difference to me. Good for her if true, if not good for her too.

Must be tough in japan though, so many dishes based on meat or fish.

Sayanee will be appearing again on FNS song festival (on the 2nd night, 13 Dec). She will be teaming up with Aya Hirano (original singer of the song) and Matsumura Sayuri (from Nogizaka46) to perform 'Hare Hare Yukai' from the anime 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'.

Edit: Sayanee and Yukirin will be appearing on the Utacon new year special on January 16th.

    Another Nylon Japan video lol

if the video does not show watch the video here

    @Suii
Here is one example from that show mentioned on the japanese forum: https://vk.com/video18124805_168640837?t=4m15s
They have to write some sort of poem, and Sayanee writes "I'm vegetarian, however..."

Oh god, this has come up so many times throughout the years. What the others said about her being vegetarian but not complying to Western standards is true. Like she would eat meat if it was for work. And she doesn't completely abstain from it even out of work, but she does prefer eating vegetables and could live without meat. I don't know if she ever said anything about the appreciation of other living creatures as a reason, but she has said before that she just isn't too fond of the taste of meat that's all. Also note that she actually eats seafood like sashimi and takoyaki, so I don't think Sayaka herself is even using the term correctly. But then again, I could be wrong, and she may have abstained completely now. I'm just basing this off what I've seen from her SNS throughout the years lol.

@JoaquinGuzman Looool I can't believe there was someone that thought Milky was vegetarian though. That girl couldn't live without yakiniku lol

Problem with being a vegetarian in Japan is that it really sucks since vegetarian isn't relli a thing here in Japan. I had to hang with a vegetarian friend once from oversea and man it was hard to even convey to the cooks what she couldn't eat lol.

If Mirukii was a vegetarian, it's safe to say that everyone is a vegetarian lol.

Problem is in western Europe and North America lots of folks make this issue (eat meat or not) a value judgement, i.e. I am better than you because...

Some people won't eat meat because they don't like the taste, other can't really afford it.

What I'm trying to say is anything she / others choose as a lifestyle is ok with me, just don't come around to me preaching for whatever side. judging me.

@Sakuraism yes I agree being vegeterian in Japan must be very complicated if you want to eat out a lot. Also they eat meat in smaller quantities than in the west, so might no feel the need to cut down as much as we might.

I was just curious and not aware that this would start such an uproar.[hehe]
Well, I don't mind any diet someone has. As long as you don't force others to do the same.

Thanks again for all your answers. :3

Same as you I say do as you wish, but respect my choices as I respect yours.

Btw I didn't translate this, but I happened to come across a lyrics translation of Riku no Sakana by someone on Dreamwidth called justironic.
That's Track 11 from Sayaka's Identity album, Riku no Sakana.

Here's the link! It's pretty deep stuff composed by Sayaka but it's interesting. Do check it out! :awesome:
    https://justironic.dreamwidth.org/4183.html

To add on to that, I also translated Hotaru which is the final track from the Identity album.
Take it as a Christmas gift from me haha.
    Merry Christmas!

    Japanese lyrics here btw: https://mojim.com/jpy176567x3x13.htm

    Composer: Sayaka Yamamoto
    Lyricist: Sayaka Yamamoto

If only time would just stop…
Our summer together will soon be over

    Within the turbulent waters
You were hiding your true self
Did you think that went unnoticed?
    It was easy to tell
    For that gaze of yours
    It wasn’t directed towards me

    If it’s pitch-black and you can’t see a thing
I’ll shine a light for you
Even if you get attached to someone else

    Wow wow

A light burning so brightly and then fading away
I’m a firefly that has fallen in love
    The reason I exist
You were the only one that gave it a meaning

As though indicating the end of summer
    My glow too becomes dimmer
But just to see your smile
I’ll go and see you again and again

Things that we’ve worked hard to establish
I can’t destroy them after all
Even if that leaves a scar in my heart

    Wow wow

Floating in the air and then fading away
I’m a firefly that has come to know love
As long as I can be by your side forever
I won’t be afraid even if I became a star

A light burning so brightly and then fading away
I’m a firefly that has fallen in love
Even if I were to be born again
Once again, I’ll choose a fate where I can shine light upon you

    I won’t forget…
    Thank you…

    Thanks for sharing and translating!
These are actually two of my favourite songs by Sayaka.
I love both of her albums and knowing the lyrics makes me love her even more lol
By the way, don't know if somebody already shared this, but here are lyrics and translations to a few other songs as well (not translations for every song tho)

Sayanee appeared on Airi's youtube channel (Airi is in character for 'The Yodogawa Catchball Club').

if the video does not show watch the video here
She also appears at the end of each ep of the drama, playing catch and chatting with a former baseball player.

    Thanks so much!!!:1st:
Just like with the first album, when I read the lyrics I begin to see the songs in a new light, and appreciate them even more.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas as well. And same for everyone else here, or whatever you celebrate, Happy Holidays! :)

A fellow Sayaka oshi in Japan passed on today and left a message with their friend. I happened to chance upon it, so here's a translation.

They fought on bravely till the end. RIP.

OP/The friend is hoping for this message to reach Sayaka's TL through RTs, so to show your support you can RT their tweet here:

This is a terrible tragedy. I can't even imagine how much heartache they must be going through. RIP, and my sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones. May she live forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.
I hope we can get it to Sayaka's attention.

That's very sad to hear a fan of Sayanee passed away. :cry2:

I have to wonder...what happened with the young girl that passed away at only the age of 12?

Sayanee sang 'Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka?' at today's handshake event. She also mentioned that if 'Beginner' had been one of the top 3 songs at Kouhaku, she would have been the person who got to say "In your position, set!" I would have loved to have seen that .

if the video does not show watch the video here

She was featured in the New Year's Day edition of 'Daily Sports' newspaper, which I think supports the Hanshin Tigers. I think she actually wrote most of the article, which is her fan assessment of the team for 2018 and some other bits and pieces.

    Go Tigers 2018!

She appeared on 'Zenryoku Datsuryoku Times SP' on 29th December. Strange show lol. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, the funniest Sayanee parts were around the 34:30 mark and 43min mark, in particular 35:40 was so random haha.

The February edition of GIGS Magazine has a special report of the identity tour. Seems they reviewed the band's equipment in detail. And its related magazine 'GIGS Presents ヒキガタリズム' also featured a report of the tour.
