Question though, she says "during the months after the senbatsu announcement..." is she indicating that the group knew about the new senbatsu even before Maiyan's graduation?

True. They did the selection before starting practice for Maiyan's graduation. Rumors abound back in early October that they made the decision. Plus also a few of members had sort of hinted at some happening: Kitano (?) had a mysterious 755 post, and Rena posted something (755? or twitter?) which she affirmed that it was okay for her not to be in senbatsu.

Kitano and Zakki 755 post happen after Koujichu announcement so it's not really a hint.

 

Rena definitely has made her feeling known that it is fine for her to not be in senbatsu before the announcement. Basically she let us know that she's okay with her position, and that she appreciates her fans, but not to worry about it. You had to read the between the lines or read someone's translation.

 

Then it's not a hint at all since she made it clear since last year that she's okay with her position.

 

Really good writing, she express herself really well, it shows her tenacity and humility.

 

Mizuki always ends her blog posts with a pun. She chose one this time that I thought was clever and definitely deliberate:
で、大会に 出たいかい？ de, taikai ni detaikai?
which translates to “So, you want to take part in the tournament?” or “So, you want to enter the contest?”

I woke up early to watch it but slept through most it to finally only see her signing off. Then I watched one of the other YouTube reposts. Not this one. I was not a fan of her shorter hair, but she looks so good here that I have no complaints any longer.

 

A Jp fan commented at Zukki's azatoi youtube video "Whilst Akimoto's cunningness felt more intentional, as in line of job as idol. Zukki's felt more genuine." It's not like I'm a big fan of Akimoto or anything, but the guy spoke some truth, instead of a made up there's a genuine one.
Must be the reason why Zukki's azatoi felt more pleasant.

It's like... it's quite a shock for me and I don't think it's really hit me yet.
Like from now on what will Nogizaka look like and then how will we fight our way to the top.
It's a time period where we have to think hard about these things.
The 3rd gen members too will say it can't stay the way it is forever. The 3rd gen members themselves probably think that more strongly than anyone.
During this time, to have 3rd gen members by my side, is so reassuring. I hope we'll be able to support each other.
