Appearance-wise, you could say, Hana is amazing. It's too bad that she's an underappreciated beauty in the group...she wasn't even in the 'JUMP & CRY' photobook, and not that many pictures of her in all the other ones, if there are, they're tiny ones.
She also definitely has stage presence, like Kyobu mentioned! I hope she'll be in BINGO! as well~

The front girls like Takahashi Minami and Maeda Atsuko definitely have the highest chances of being in a single, but no matter what, they'll always be in a single too so it doesn't really matter.They're the front girls
I'm not exactly sure how the other girls are picked, but a lot of things are taken into consideration. Like popularity, as you said. Also, singing/dancing capabilities. Obviously if you're not that good of a singer or dancer, your chances of being featured in a single are lower. But they also take promotion into account, like if they want to push certain girls into the spotlight more (the new Team B girls, etc).
