Well, she's much older than what I was thinking she was. I had always thought she was like 12, and H!P was just continuing their idea of having super young idols. And yeah, 17 isn't old, but it's middle-aged-ish in the idol world with its thriving U-10 industry.

Yeah, even though I know she was born in '91, it tripped me out seeing "18th birthday" on Hello! Online a minute ago, because I just walked the Hajimete no keiken PV and she looks SO young throughout it. But she's a damn good model, and when she pulls a more mature facial expression, she's capable of looking more her age.

Anyway, her new PV is adorable! Seems like a return to the fun H!P PVs of the past. And backup dancers! We need more like this, even if it's low-budget. It's still cute and a lot of fun.

I really hope the news about Lucky Aura getting a PV wasn't false. It's the one truly amazing song by her, so far (though I still need to listen to the Otome B-side), and I'm sure she'd be wonderful in a PV for it.

I really don't understand why Mano does not get more attention. Her voice is great. I have loved every song she has come out with so far. None of them are boring at all. Otome no Inori is my favorite by far. The piano and melody is epic. Hajimete no Keiken was a nice change. It even got #2 on the daily charts on the first day. If I remember corerctly I think it sold around 12k on it's first day. Of course it went down pretty quick after that.

Mano was recently on Music Station a couple weeks ago with Arashi, GLAY, Masaharu Fukuyama and more. I was so nervous for Mano, but she did her best!

I can't wait for her next single Sekai wa Summer Party to be released on July 29, 2009. I hope she gets an album and a concert DVD this year. That would amazing!

I think that Hajimete no Keiken was a turning point for her (it's probably just my opinion, though), as it's so different from other H!P releases and it shows off all of her skills, plus her ability to be an idol.

The new song is OK, but the PV is absolutely different from the first PV.
It's time for Tsunku not to use Egg as backup dancers.

Then again, there has still not been a Mano song I've liked.
They're all a bit too boring for my taste.
And to be honest I don't really like her voice. (it doesn't have anything to do with she is a good singer or not - it's just her type of voice I don't like)

I liked all of her stuff so far, even the boring songs. The third indie single was kinda meh for me, but that Manopiano, and oh god, Lucky Aura...if only her voice was better I would listen to them more XD

But, the more I listen the new song the more I think this is a ripoff of Team K's 'Beach Sandal'. Even the uniforms of the backdancers are alike. And someone just pointed it out on Hello! Online (but the people there don't want to admit it for some reason?) Either way, it killed it for me. I'll have to wait for the next one.

Perhaps she's being groomed to take Koharu's spot in the H!P scheme of things. She totally lacks Koha's hyper genki personality though so I think it would be a mistake to try and mold her in that direction. (I do like the song and PV though)

Recently I listened to Mano's latest single "Onegai dakara..." and I have to admit the single is great.
While I always thought Mano was kind of boring, this song changed my mind. It's not that I've ever disliked her or anything and I actually like singles like "Hajimete no Keiken" or "Kono Mune no Tokimeki wo", but she didn't really amaze me.
For instance, if you think about her voice: I'd say it is average, especially if you compare it to former H!P soloists Ayaya and Mikitty. I think she has improved, but she will never be the best singer in H!P.
Nevertheless, she has her own style and I'm beginning to like her much more than before. This is kind of special, because these days I'm almost annoyed and definitely bored by H!P.

What I appreciate about her latest single is that it is completely different from all other singles she's had before. This approach to maturity is something I haven't seen with her until now and I think it's a good change.

The video is, of course, very simple simple, but in between the "normal" scenes there are some backstage scenes of Mano and these are very cute again.

Btw. when I first saw the covers, I was pleasantly surprised.

However, even though this song is very good, her voice isn't. She struggles landing the notes and squeaks here and there. Nothing too bad with that, idols aren't exactly known for their vocal prowess. Still, I keep wondering how it would've sounded if it was Ayaya or Nacchi singing it.

TOTALLY AGREE!! Her last two releases have been great!! Much more mature and show her true age.
