I've read articles about fundamentalist Muslim group especially those from Pakistan and Indonesia and other other Islamic nation. I'm especially worried about public opinion in a religious nation.

well yes maybe some ppl wont accept them. but lots of ppl still accept them though and if some of you already look at heavy rotation PV JKT48 ver u'll see a lot of difference from the original PV. they wont be wearing lingerie or things like that since it will become a big problem in indonesia

After hearing a couple of their performances, I'm convinced that, on average, JKT48 are better singers than AKB and other sister groups. Their group vocals sound much fuller and more supported (and less squeaky) than the group vocals of the other 48 groups (except for maybe SDN)

Seems like it's a language/ethnic/culture thing... I noticed some languages often sound more full than others. There's always exceptions, but for example, Mandarin Chinese sounds really soft, while Italian often sounds heavier and fuller... Indonesian is also like that... And even when they sing in Japanese, it's probably got to do with the fact that they speak Indonesian and have that accent. I dunno, it's probably just something I noticed about different languages when watching song comparisons of the same song in different languages, which I do a lot. XD

It was nice to see them with all the other groups at the Kouhaku event thing. ^_^ They sang Aitakatta there. They did good!! ^_^

Looks like they're a little stiff (maybe nervous) on stage but that will get taken care of in no time. But they're really good, really digging this group right now. I hope like AKB that they'll reach huge heights of success in their country.

I don't think it's just a language thing. It's not the accent or how they are pronouncing the Japanese words, it's the strength of their voices.

Seems like a mix of iiwake maybe (the singing outside school building and close-up things) and oogoe diamond (the stage performance part) to me. Seems good.
