Aika is EXCELLENT in Shouri no Big Wave! Her vocals are okay, but her performance makes her stand out! She is SUPER cute and cheerful and just comes across very natural. Sometimes idols can look as if they're trying too hard, but Mittsi is a complete natural! I watched this video over and over again and her smile just made me want to smile as well!

I would definately suggest that everyone take a look at this PV! Aika just gets cuter and cuter.

I've just watched Haru Beautiful Everyday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_8PE3aN_hI for about the tenth time and Aika is so adorable in it, Eri also

I think she has improved greatly and is turning out to be a wonderful addition to MM. Although she has been somewhat overshadowed be Linlin and Junjun's arrival, she is still holding her own and getting better all the time. She's a sweet heart

Well, she somewhat recently moved to the third spot on my list, that's the highest she's going to get because no one can replace Sayu and Koharu in their own spots :wink:

Preordered Shouri no Big Wave (Limited Edition), encouraged the parents to get it for me ^_^ Really looking forward to it, even if I have to wait until Christmas.

No idea what comes with the Limited Edition, but I couldn't not get it with Aika in it

Helps that I like the song too.

It's so weird for me to see people who don't like her, because around the blogging community I call my online home, she is generally adored. I don't understand how anyone can NOT like her. That's why I've been really surprised and frustrated with a few comments I've seen tossed out about her by people talking about Kashiwagi and the 8th gen auditions, and the comments about Oota Aika being much prettier than her. It seems like some people really dislike her. I can't comprehend that. I disliked her for maybe five minutes, and then I accepted her, and then I liked her, and then I loved her, and it happened extremely quickly. By the "Egao YES Nude" radio rip it was love. She's SO adorable and has a pretty nice voice, and she's a born, natural idol. She moved into idol mode so fast it blew my mind, but she's not putting on a persona. It's HER, and she just happens to be MADE for this. She knows what she's doing! I adore the girl, and she's my second favourite of the current Momusu lineup. (Koharu's my favourite...and I love those two together! I demand they do a duet of one of Koharu's solo ballads!)

Oh and yes, SHE NEEDS A PB ALREADY. SERIOUSLY. WTF.

^ Tokaikko I agree with what you said. During the 8th gen auditions aika was my pick mainly cause she stood out. People hate her because many "musume fans" are critics. These are probably the same "musume fans" who cherish their oh so precious golden generation or "original members". They are quick to criticize and compare to the "good old days" without even giving aika a chance. With her new haircut she looks similar to momoko and even has a similar personality, and since momoko is arguably the most popular berryz, I am sure aika will be just fine. To think about it many people hated risa, but they are quick to change minds after she now shows us her mature side.

^ Well maybe its just individual preferences. It's not like everyone MUST like someone just because alotta ppl likes her. I mean like Tokaikko actually HATED her before, but has since changed to LOVE her. People might change to like her someday, just takes time. As for me, I'm not a big fan, and I don't really HATE her, just not interested.

I dunno really... I just fell in love with her all of a sudden, I think it was in Onna ni Sachi Are, maybe... I'm still not too keen on her vocal abilities, but she's a cutie nonetheless, and she's a very sweet girl, which always makes her top of my list!

I remember people hated on her like crazy during the auditions, and of course, after she got picked, everyone was all like "OMG Demise... Momusu is doomed bla bla bla" I wasn't really favoring any girl during the audition (although I did like the cross eyed girl who did traditional japanese dance with fans, she was cool), and all I wanted was a more than one person generation... And then I watched the video where they tell Aika that she won, and she's so genuinely happy! I kind of started loving her eversince.

Whoa, long post! Anyway, I hate it when people hate on Aika because she's so sweet natured that I feel like she can't defend herself or something XD I mean, if someone hates Reina, she can personally stomp them, if someone hates Koha, she wouldn't care because she's in her own little world and so on... But Aika is just... I dunno, I just feel horrible whenever I read something bad about her.

And Oota Aika IS cuter. I mean, seriously, Tenshi no Shippo almost killed me with cuteness when I watched the preview

^That girl from the auditions was my fave too! Think her name was Minami.
Think one of the reasons I like Minami a lot more back then than Aika, was the age. Minami was 16 years and I found that age a lot more fitting. I know new members of Morning Musume has always been very young, but still as I get older I would want Morning Musume to have a bit older members. Like 15, 16 years old (I know, they probably wont go much older) ofcourse Linlin and Junjun were kinda exceptions, and Junjun is the oldest member ever being added to MM.
So Aika was too young for my taste, and was also a bit annoyed she was the only one chosen, but I never hated on her. I just didn't find her interesting.

Yes she is a sweet girl and such, I can't deny that, she's just not very high yet in my rankings, think she's my 7th fave.
But actually I've started to care less about the girls' ages, I mean Koharu is a fave member of mine and she's younger than me. Maybe as I get to know Aika better she can go up my ranks, like Koharu did.
