2022 in AKB48 Group

The following is a list of events and releases that have happened, or are expected to happen in 2022 from the AKB48 Group.

Members

• January 1:
  • NMB48 holds their third team shuffle NMB48 Team Shuffle 2022. Promoted Members will form Team N and Team M while Kenkyuusei members will form Team BII without being promoted.
  • Ike Honoka, Kuroshima Sakura, Sakashita Mako, Sakata Misaki, Sakamoto Risa, Sakurada Ayaka, Takahashi Sae, Tatsumoto Yayoi, Tanaka Yukino, Fukuno Ami, Matsuoka Sakura, Matsuno Mio, Matsumoto Mihina, and Yamamoto Hikaru join NMB48 as 8th generation Kenkyuusei.
• March 18: Okada Nana ends her concurrent position with STU48.
• April 5: Omura Anzu, Shinohara Kyoka, Sugimoto Riina, Hara Yune, Morimoto Kurumi, Yamamura Sakura, and Wakita Aoi join SKE48 as 11th Generation Kenkyuusei.
• May 3: Okada Azumi, Okamura Rio, Kurushima Yuka, and Morokuzu Noa join STU48 as the winners of the New Wave Project Kenkyuusei.
• May 4: Ota Yuki, Kohama Kokone, Sato Airi, Hashimoto Eriko, Hasegawa Niina, Hatakeyama Nozomi, Hirata Yuki, Hotei Moka, Masai Mayuu, Mizushima Miyuu, and Yamazaki Sora join AKB48 as 17th generation Kenkyuusei.
• May 7: Ikuno Rina, Izawa Miyu, Ishimatsu Yuina, Ihara Hanna, Eguchi Kokoha, Ouchi Rinka, Oba Risaki, Kawashima Yuna, Kitagawa Hiiro, Shibui Mina, Tachibana Kokoro, Fukui Karen, Fujino Kokoha, Matsumoto Urara, Mogami Nanaka, Morisaki Saaya, Yasui Hina, and Yanase Reia join HKT48 as 6th generation Kenkyuusei.
• June 1: Arai Ririno, Isobe Rua, Kita Hanae, Kitamura Yuha, Kimoto Yuna, Shibano Yuki, Suizu Natsuki, Sugimoto Moe, Suzuki Ririka, Nakajima Hikaru, Hase Sumomo, and Minamikawa Haruka join NGT48 as 3rd generation Kenkyuusei.
• July 1: AKB48 Team TP's new units Unit T and Unit P are formed. The units Daisy, Bellflower, and Sakura are disbanded.

Auditions

• January 10: NGT48 announces 3rd Generation auditions.
• January 22: AKB48 Team TP announces 3rd Generation auditions.
• May 30: AKB48 Team SH announces 5th Generation auditions.
• June 2:
  • BNK48 announces 4th Generation auditions.
  • CGM48 announces 2nd Generation auditions.

Kenkyuusei promotions

• January 1: Wada Miyu is promoted to Team N.
• January 13:
  • Kuriyama Rina and Sakamoto Rino are promoted to Team H.
  • Ichimura Airi, Kawahira Hijiri, Tanaka Iori, Nagano Miyabi, and Murakami Wakana are promoted to Team KIV.
  • Goto Hinano is promoted to Team TII.
• January 15:
  • Ishizuka Mizuki, Kito Mikuru, and Sugiyama Anan are promoted to Team S.
  • Aoki Rika, Igarashi Hayaka, Ito Miki and Nishii Mio are promoted to Team KII.
  • Sawada Kanon and Hayashi Mirei are promoted to Team E.
• January 22:
  • Wang Yi-chia is promoted to Bellflower.
  • Lin Yi-yun is promoted to Sakura.
• June 2:
  • Nathanya Dulyapol (Mean), Natthathida Asanani (Yayee), Patalee Prasertteerachai (Hoop), Virunpat Thamrongpantavanich (Grace), and Wachiraphon Phatthanaphanit (Earn) are promoted to Team BIII.
  • Nippitcha Pipitdaecha (Paeyah), Nopparada Leartviriyaporn (Yoghurt), Pinyada Jungkanjana (Popper), Pitthayaporn Kiatthitinan (Pancake), Ratah Chinkrajangkit, Sarisa Worasunthorn (Pampam), and Yanisa Muangkam (Kaofrang) are promoted to Team NV.

Notable Departures

• February 12: Eve Antoinette Ichwan graduates from JKT48. She was the last 5th Generation member to leave the group.
• February 20: Kato Rena graduates from AKB48.
• March 17: Iriyama Anna graduates from AKB48.
• March 27: Kubo Satone graduates from AKB48.
• April 3: Tashima Meru graduates from HKT48.
• April 4: Umeyama Cocona graduates from NMB48.
• April 15: Miyazaki Miho graduates from AKB48. She was the last 5th Generation member to leave the group.
• May 21: Oba Mina graduates from SKE48. She was the last AKB48 9th Generation member to leave the group.
