Hinatazaka46 (日向坂46) is a Japanese idol group and the 4th group of the Sakamichi Series. They were formerly known as Hiragana Keyakizaka46, a sub-group within Keyakizaka46, until they announced their independence and became a new group on February 11, 2019.

Overview
 +
* The group name comes from Hyugazaka Street in Mita, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Hinatazaka is an alternate reading of the kanji in Hyugazaka (<small>日向坂</small>).
 +
* Fans of the group are called Ohisama. The meaning behind this name is that a sunny place (<small>日向</small> Hinata) cannot exist without sunshine (<small>おひさま</small> Ohisama), just as Hinatazaka46 cannot exist without its fans.
 +
* Since June 5, 2018 their current group captain is Sasaki Kumi.
 +
* The member's huddle call said before live performances is as follows:
 +
<div role="navigation" aria-labelledby="mediawiki-handbook-label" class="noprint" style="padding:.6em 0 0.6em 0; border:1px solid #aaa; margin-bottom:.2em; text-align:center; background:#f9f9f9;">空まで届け!ぽかぽかキュン!1人じゃない、仲間と共に 高く跳べ、日向坂46、ひ!<br/>Sora made todoke! Hinatazaka46 (日向坂46) is a Japanese idol group and the 4th group of the Sakamichi Series. They were formerly known as Hiragana Keyakizaka46, a sub-group within Keyakizaka46, until they announced their independence and became a new group on February 11, 2019.

Overview

 • The group name comes from Hyugazaka Street in Mita, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Hinatazaka is an alternate reading of the kanji in Hyugazaka (日向坂).
 • Fans of the group are called Ohisama. The meaning behind this name is that a sunny place (日向 Hinata) cannot exist without sunshine (おひさま Ohisama), just as Hinatazaka46 cannot exist without its fans.
 • Since June 5, 2018 their current group captain is Sasaki Kumi.
 • The member's huddle call said before live performances is as follows:

Combi Names
Combi Name Members Name Explanation
Daikanyama Sisters (代官山姉妹 Daikanyama Shimai) Ushio Sarina and Kanemura Miku Daikanyama is an upscale area of Shibuya. Their concept is "sisters having afternoon tea at a fashionable Daikanyama cafe". The two are known for having somewhat serious but kind personalities, as well as an air of elegance.
Can Friends (キャン友 Kyan Tomo) Ushio Sarina and Iguchi Mao (Graduated) From English "can", as in "we can do it!". The two were friends since the early days of Hiragana Keyakizaka46, and said that together they can do anything.
French Bread (フランスパン Furansu Pan) Kakizaki Memi (Graduated) and Sasaki Mirei "French" was used to represent Memi, who aspired to be "like a French doll". "Bread" was taken from Mirei's nickname, Miipan (pan meaning "bread" in Japanese). The duo performed the song Sanrinsha ni Noritai on Hiragana Keyakizaka46's 1st Album.
Memifii (めみふぃ Memifii) Kakizaki Memi (Graduated) and Takase Mana Combination of members' individual nicknames.

Bijiness (びじねす Bijiness) Kageyama Yuka (Graduated) and Miyata Manamo (Graduated) A pun on bijin, meaning beautiful person", and "business". This comes from a joke that the two are only friends for "business reasons", as they are both Hinatazaka members with similar traits of loving books and being academically gifted.
Kizunas (きずなーず Kizunaazu) Kato Shiho, Sasaki Mirei, and Saito Kyoko From kizuna, meaning "bonds". All three are close friends and have expressed a strong sense of duty to Hinatazaka46 as 1st Generation members. The name was created by Mirei in March 2019. This combi performed Doushite Ame da to Itta Darou on Hinatazaka46's 1st Album.
Kikutoshi (きくとし Kikutoshi) Kato Shiho and Sasaki Kumi Combination of members' individual nicknames.
Kiss Friends (キス友 Kisu Tomo) Kato Shiho and Saito Kyoko Named during an episode of Hinatazaka de Aimashou due to the two being physically affectionate.
Asakusa Sisters (浅草姉妹 Asakusa Shimai) Kato Shiho, Sasaki Kumi, Sasaki Mirei, Takamoto Ayaka, Kosaka Nao Composed of the members who had exclusive modeling contracts with fashion magazines on or before March 27, 2019. This combi performed the song Footsteps on Hinatazaka46's 1st Single. The music video was shot in Asakusa, Tokyo, which was the inspiration for the combi name.
Respect Three (リスペクトスリー Risupecuto Surii') Kato Shiho, Watanabe Miho (Graduated), Kamimura Hinano Both Miho and Hinano have stated they respect Shiho as their senior, and eventually, the three created a combi with this concept.
Strawberry Milk (いちごみるく Ichigo Miruku) Sasaki Kumi and Higashimura Mei A combination of nicknames created by Mei. "Meichigo" for herself, meaning "Mei+Ichigo (strawberry)", and "Kumilk" for Kumi, meaing "Kumi+milk".
Durian Milk (ドリアンミルク Dorian Miruku) Sasaki Kumi and Tomita Suzuka Inspired by Strawberry Milk above. Suzuka wanted to create a similar duo name, so she thought of "Suzudurian" for herself to combine with "Kumilk".
Yancharu Family (やんちゃるふぁみりー Yancharu Famirii) Higashimura Mei, Kanemura Miku, Kawata Hina, Nibu Akari From "Yancharu", one of Mei's nicknames. She is the oldest of the four. This combi performed the song Cage on Hinatazaka46's 2nd Single.
NaoMiku (なおみく Naomiku) Kanemura Miku and Kosaka Nao Combination of members' individual nicknames. This duo performed the song See Through on Hinatazaka46's 1st Album.
Tofu Skin and Lettuce (湯葉とレタス Yuba to Retasu) Kanemura Miku and Nibu Akari The name was created by Miku after the two ate shabu shabu together and ordered 10 servings of yuba and lettuce for their pot. They go by YubaReta (ゆばレタ) for short, or simply NibuMiku (にぶみく) (the combination of their names).
NaoMiho (なおみほ Naomiho) Kosaka Nao and Watanabe Miho (Graduated) Combination of members' individual nicknames.
NaoMikunin (なおみくにん Naomikunin) Kosaka Nao and Takahashi Mikuni Combination of members' individual nicknames.
Miso Soup Combi (お味噌汁コンビ Omiso Shiru Conbi),
Hi Hi Siblings (ひーひー兄弟 Hii Hii Kyoudai)
Kawata Hina and Nibu Akari The name was created by a staff member, who said "when I hear those two talking it feels relaxing and comforting, like miso soup"
beans Matsuda Konoka and Miyata Manamo (Graduated) Both members' favorite foods are a type of bean: Konoka's is natto fermented soybeans, and Manamo's is azuki red bean.
Waku Waku Peanuts (わくわくピーナッツ Waku Waku Piinatsu) Matsuda Konoka and Watanabe Miho (Graduated) The name was created by Konoka, with the concept of waku waku, meaning "energetic". Both members are active on variety shows and take initiative coordinating things among the Hinatazaka46 2nd Generation members.
Gori Gori Donuts (ごりごりドーナツ Gori Gori Doonatsu) Matsuda Konoka, Tomita Suzuka, and Watanabe Miho (Graduated) Similar concept to Waku Waku Peanuts above.
Konopparu (このっぱる Konopparu) Matsuda Konoka and Yamaguchi Haruyo Combination of members' individual nicknames.
MM Sisters (MM姉妹 MM Shimai) Miyata Manamo (Graduated) and Morimoto Marie Both members' initials are "M.M."
Genpei War (源平合戦 Genpei Kassen) Shogenji Yoko and Hirao Honoka The members' names have the kanji of the historic warring Minamoto (源氏) and Taira (平家) clans, respectively. However, their "battles" are mostly Shogenji trying to kiss Hirao.
Konikaho Sweets Channel (こにかほスイーツチャンネル Konikaho Sweets Channel) Konishi Nanami and Fujishima Kaho Announced during their joint Showroom. It is a combination of their names and their love of sweets. A variation of the duo name is Konikaho Sweets Couple Channel.
Yamaharu (やまはる Yamaharu) Yamashita Haruka and Yamaguchi Haruyo Both of their last names start with "Yama" and their first names with "Haru".
Katoshi Squad (かとし軍団 Katoshi Gundan) Kato Shiho and Konishi Nanami Kato Shiho is the favourite member of Konishi Namami. The running joke is that she is the only member, other than Kato.
