Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46) was a Japanese Idol Group and the first sister group of Nogizaka46. Their debut single, Silent Majority, was released on April 6, 2016.
The group was rebranded as Sakurazaka46 (櫻坂46) on October 14, 2020.
2015
Official unveiling of the 1st Generation
February
- 22 - A "Nogizaka46 New Project" is officially announced during the Nogizaka46's 3rd YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE, what would later become Keyakizaka46.
June
- 27 - Auditions start for what is then known as "Toriizaka46" (鳥居坂46).
August
- 21 - Final examinations end and 22 people are officially unveiled as the 1st Generation. The group's name is changed from "Toriizaka46" to "Keyakizaka46".
September
- 17 - Suzuki Mizuho leaves the group.
October
- 4 - Keyakitte, Kakenai?, the group's first own TV program, starts.
November
- 11 - Harada Mayu leaves the group without any send-off activities.
- 14 - Blogs for each member are launched.
- 14 & 15 - The group's first event, a "Choose your most noticeable member" introduction meet, is held at Tokyo Zepp DriverCity.
- 30 - Hiragana Keyakizaka46 is unveiled during an episode of Keyakitte, Kakenai?, and along with it Nagahama Neru as its first member.
December
- 16 - The group appears on "2015 FNS Song Festival THE LIVE", where they perform Seifuku no Mannequin with Nogizaka46 and AKB48, marking their first TV performance.
- 19 & 20 - The group holds mini handshake events across the Kanto region.
2016
January
- 30 - The group performs Seifuku no Mannequin as the opening act at LIVE EXPO TOKYO 2016 ALL LIVE NIPPON VOL.4, making it their first live performance.
March
- 7 - The group's first CMs are released for the brand mechakari. This is also when fans had the opportunity to first hear the single Silent Majority.
- 17 - Keyakizaka46 Debut Countdown Live is held as the group's first mini-concert, showing off all songs on the then upcoming Silent Majority single.
April
- 1 - Keyakizaka46 Kochira Yurakucho Hoshizora Housoukyoku, Keyakizaka46's first radio show, starts broadcasting.
- 6 - Silent Majority, Keyakizaka46's first single, is released.
May
- 8 - The 1st Generation of Hiragana Keyakizaka46 members are officially unveiled.
July
- 5 - KEYABINGO!, the group's 2nd TV program and a revival of AKB48's AKBINGO!, starts.
- 17 - Keyakizaka46's first drama Tokuyama Daigoro wo Dare ga Koroshita ka? is aired.
August
- 6 & 7 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2016.
- 10 - Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai, Keyakizaka46's 2nd single, is released.
November
- 30 - Futari Saison, Keyakizaka46's 3rd single, is released.
December
- 24 & 25 - Keyakizaka46 One Man Live is held as the group's first solo concert.
- 28 - The group performs at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 16/17. They continue to perform there every year until 2019.
- 31 - The group performs at the 67th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 1st appearance on the program.
2017

January
- 21 - Sugai Yuuka was announced as the captain of Keyakizaka46, and Moriya Akane the Vice-Captain, at the national handshake event held at Makuhari Messe.
March
- 21 & 22 - Hiragana Keyakizaka46 perform their first live, Keyakizaka46 Zepp Tokyo Kouen.
- 31 - Hiragana Keyakizaka46 begins their first tour, Hiragana National Tour 2017. The tour continues until December 13, 2017.
April
- 5 - Fukyouwaon, Keyakizaka46's 4th single, is released.
- 6 - Keyakizaka46 1st Anniversary Live is held.
- Additionally, auditions for Hiragana Keyakizaka46 2nd Generation are announced at the live.
May
- 18 - The group's second drama Zankoku na Kankyakutachi airs on Nippon TV. The show airs until July 20, 2017.
July
- 19 - Masshirona Mono wa Yogoshitaku Naru, Keyakizaka46's 1st Album, is released.
- 22 & 23 - Keyaki Republic 2017 is held, the first of the Keyaki Republic Concert Series.
August
- 2 - 30 - Keyakizaka46 National Tour 2017 "Masshirona Mono wa Yogoshitaku Naru", Kanji Keyakizaka46's first tour, is held.
- 5 - The group performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2017.
- 12 - The group performs at ROCK IN JAPAN FES. 2017. They continue to perform there every year until 2019.
- 19 & 20 - The group performs at popular music festival SUMMER SONIC 2017.
October
- 25 - Kaze ni Fukarete mo, Keyakizaka46's 5th single, is released.
December
- 31 - The group performs at the 68th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 2nd appearance on the program.
2018
March
- 7 - Glass wo Ware!, Keyakizaka46's 6th single, is released.
April
- 6 - 8 - Keyakizaka46 2nd YEAR ANNIVERSARY LIVE is held. This is the first live where different members, aside from Hirate Yurina, performed as center for the songs.
June
- 1 - Sakamichi Joint New Member Recruitment Audition opens, recruiting members for both Kanji and Hiragana Keyakizaka46.
August
- 3 - Hiragana Keyakizaka46 performs at Tokyo Idol Festival 2018.
- 4 - The group performs at ROCK IN JAPAN FES. 2018.
- 15 - Ambivalent, Keyakizaka46's 7th single, is released.
- 11 - Keyakizaka46 Summer Arena Tour 2018 begins. The tour continues until September 5, 2018.
November
- 4 - Imaizumi Yui graduates from the group.
- 16 - Shida Manaka graduates from the group.
- 16 - 25 - Kobayashi Yui, Habu Mizuho, Sugai Yuuka, and Moriya Akane participate in the Sakamichi Series joint project, stage play Zambi.
- 21 - The group's first photobook, 21nin no Mikansei is released.
- 29 - The applicants who passed the Sakamichi Joint New Member Recruitment Audition are announced, with 9 members being assigned as Keyakizaka46 2nd Generation and 1 member assigned as Hiragana Keyakizaka46 3rd Generation.
December
- 22 - Yonetani Nanami graduates from the group.
- 31 - The group performs at the 69th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 3rd appearance on the program.
2019
February
- 7 - 17 - Oda Nana, Ishimori Nijika, and Watanabe Rika participate in the second iteration of the Zambi project, stage play Zambi - Theater's End.
- 11 - It was announced that Hiragana Keyakizaka46 would become independent from the group, renaming to Hinatazaka46.
- 27 - Kuroi Hitsuji, Keyakizaka46's 8th single, is released.
July
- 30 - Nagahama Neru graduates from the group with her own graduation event.
December
- 31 - The group performs at the 70th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, marking their 4th appearance on the program.
2020
January
- 23 - Oda Nana and Suzumoto Miyu graduate from the group. Hirate Yurina resigns from the group.
February
- 16 - Six Sakamichi Kenshusei were assigned to Keyakizaka46.
March
- 31 - Nagasawa Nanako graduates from the group.
July
- 16 - During the KEYAKIZAKA46 Live Online, but with YOU! live-streamed concert, captain Sugai Yuuka announced that the group would undergo a rebranding.
August
- 21 - Dare ga Sono Kane wo Narasu no ka?, Keyakizaka46's last single, is released.
September
- 4 - Bokutachi no Uso to Shinjitsu: Documentary of Keyakizaka46 is released after being delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
- 20 - At 8:00PM JST, a surprise announcement was made at Shibuya’s Scramble Crossing which announced that Keyakizaka46 will be renamed as “Sakurazaka46 (櫻坂46).” The official announcement was made on the Keyakizaka46 website the next day.
- 30 - Ishimori Nijika graduates from the group.
October
- 7 - Eien Yori Nagai Isshun 〜Ano Koro, Tashika ni Sonzaishita Watashitachi〜, Keyakizaka46's "Best" Album, is released.
- 12 & 13 - The group's final concert, Keyakizaka46 THE LAST LIVE is held. Additionally, Sato Shiori graduates from the group.
- 14 - Keyakizaka46 becomes Sakurazaka46.
- 17 - Keyakizaka46 made their final appearance in SONGS (NHK Music Program), performing “Dare ga Sono Kane wo Narasu no ka?” and “Taiyou wa Miageru Hito wo Erabanai”.
