10月のプールに飛び込んだ僕を笑うがいい
制服のまま泳いで何を叱られるのか
そして冷たい水の中で わざと飛沫(しぶき)を上げて
誰にも邪魔をされない本当の自由 確かめたかった

何もしないのは 傷つきたくないってことだろう?
もっと ジタバタしてかっこ悪くたっていいじゃないか?

僕なりの抵抗で じっと息を止めてた
いつまでいられるだろう 水の中は平等だ

ゆっくり立ち上がる

10月のプールを泳ぐのはそうさ愚かなことだ
教室の窓 みんながこっち見て騒いでる
そしてずぶ濡れで震えてる僕は中指を立て
大声で言ってやったんだ できるものならやってみろよ

びしょびしょの足跡が廊下に残っている
教師は何も言わなかった 僕に興味がないんだろう

プールには何度だって また飛び込んでやる
季節なんか関係ないのが僕の生き方だ

I don’t want to take those boring lessons

As I gaze at the schoolyard, good things come into mind
No point just playing truant and grumbling my complaints here

Just laugh at me as I jump into the October pool
What’s there to scold me for swimming in my uniform?
Then, in the cold water, I deliberately make droplets fly
I want to ascertain the true freedom that no one disturbs

People do nothing because they don’t want to get hurt, right?
But what’s wrong with floundering more and being uncool?

As my form of resistance, I stay still and hold my breath
How long can I last? Everything is equal in water

Slowly I get up

Swimming in the October pool is stupid all right
From the classroom windows, everyone looks and clamours
Then, soaked and shaking, I stick up my middle finger
I come back at them loudly, ‘Do it if you can’

I leave wet footprints on the corridor
The teachers say nothing; they’re probably not interested in me

I’ll jump into the pool any number of times
Seasons don’t matter to the way I live
