Album AKB48 9th [Bokutachi wa, ano hi no yoake wo shitteiru] (2018/01/24)

I think senbatsu's like the all-stars and so you expect to see the best/most popular girls regardless of where they're from (with some limitations to SGs) -- with occasional space for a new gen (with front girl potential) push.
Megu, Hiwatashi, etc aren't really senbatsu-level (yet?) so I'm not sure why there's expectation to see them in that position over say mirurun or kojima mako -- maybe satopii yes, as a new gen push.

Back to the album -- so there's another resale(?) round until Jan 5. I wonder why payment for the first two resale rounds are grouped separately from this one.

 

Again: the vast majority of AKB girls are not featured at all in their own damn album. That is the heart of my complaint, not the presence of some SG girls. There are girls who have been in nothing since TwI. I can see that Naachan is center and SG are less than half the senbatsu and I understand that this is better than the recent track record, but this does not address the total lack of most of the group anywhere on the album.

If you are only casually interested in AKB then I can understand why you think it is all rosy and we should stop whining. But this is a fan forum: you cannot expect everyone here to be casual fans who only notice the senbatsu.

 

Tbh, as a person who has been over with this SG invasion in senbatsu even agreed that at the very least, they should throw some bones to pure AKB members with either team songs or those random asf Bara/Yuri/Cattleya thing since the new team is not gonna be official until March/April. Just give them something lol.

 

Trying to see it as an outsider for a bit — I think maybe the kicking and screaming might be because people expected that an album would be the chance to throw that bone. There are arguable reasons not to do it in the singles, space is (kind of, artificially) limited and so on, so maybe that's exactly what the album was for? To have the extra space to highlight AKB-proper girls and maybe the teams? And then the details get announced and oh no, it's just another standard money grab… in fact this album is pretty much a single, except they don't want to call it a single so that it's ok if it doesn't sell a million.

I don't know if I agree, but I can see where people are coming from. I'm in the camp that doesn't care that much about the songs and especially the releases, but for those who do, it must be hard, especially if their oshi is in the no-record list.

 

I even accepted the fact that these poor girls might not even show their faces in MV anymore (since there's no MV for album tracks) with this as their routine:
Spring -> SG Couplings
Summer -> Previous Year SSK Ranker+ Expected to Rank Coupling
Fall -> The ongoing year's SSK Parade
Winter-> This is the most plausible time for pure AKB couplings (team songs), but honestly not gonna be surprised if it's like this year's again.

They have 8 new songs for this album, and it's actually enough to feature all of the pure AKB (3/4 songs) + SG inclusion in main songs but nope. It's kind of sad that the girls who have been absent are most likely the same girls who are going to be under in the upcoming new stage too.

 

I don't even remember right when Nozawa Rena did her latest studio record. Poor her. Poor AKB's theatre girls.

Oh, even the popular girl, Tomu, hasn't even spewed her voice out since NnM. Good job AKS! Your way to manage the girls is so cool!

 

Exactly! At least give the non-senbatsu level AKB girls something. It's not right that the sister group members usually all get at least one song on almost every one of their singles and albums but many AKB girls get absolutely nothing.

More like we're complaining about the AKS' treatment to AKB's girls, not SG.

 

What treatment? SG members getting spots in this album rather than AKB girls?

You do know we have different management already and are doing a way better job at treating the girls than the predecessor right.

Nobody argued about that oldthing stuff. We just want every girls in AKB48 gets something to do in their damn album. No matter how management descreased SG insult, the AKB girls still doesn't have a chance to chew their voice, even someone like Ino Miyabi didn't do anything in their damn singles nor albums since TwI until her graduation day.

No one promised the girls that everyone is gunna be guaranteed a spot right? Or once they got in the group it's all rainbows and unicorns.

What the spot that you said? If that's about a spot light of senbatsu or undergirls, we don't talk about that. Simple, just gift that girls a song in their singles or albums, it's more than enough right now. If AKS can't do that things, what for they recruited that girls at first? Even at theatre they barely get the stage.

PS: Don't blame me if I bring out the SG here 'cause all of SG's Girls has at least one song in each of their group albums or singles while a bunch of AKB' s girls gets nothing in their stuff.

 

Everyone in 48G is in a lose-lose situation right now. AKB gets reduced girls per release, sister groups get reduced amount of releases.

 

Just pre-ordered the Type A Edition, so I'm really looking forward to February (assuming that's when I'll receive it lol)

I wish there was something like a Showroom competition where the top 16 would get a song and an MV. I'm sure all those unfairly treated non-eito AKB girls would fight for such chance with all their might.

 

Private summer was the best Eito song in 2017.
