You shouldn't need a VPN but you won't be able to get it in international versions of the Play Store - you need to download and install an APK of the app. Annoyingly, when they update the app (which thankfully isn't very often), you need to find another APK with the latest update, but apart from that there are no problems with using it internationally once installed - you can use it without a VPN and you can pay with an international card. Send me a PM if you're having trouble locating a reputable APK to download and I can point you in the right direction

Nothing has been announced so far, but I suspect not. AKB Mobile iOS App (paid via Apple), STU Mobile paid with credit card, etc, etc. also does not give you any votes.
Last year STU mobile paid with credit card wasn't elegible so I suspect this time will be the same. But I hope it changes because this time is "AKB48 SS WORLD" jajaja But if it changes I don't think we can get 1 vote per member...
I am using an Android phone. I have paid for subscriptions for the AKB48 mail app, STU48 mail app and the SKE48 mail app. For some reason, I am unable to receive any mail from the members. I have no problems with my internet wifi. What could be problem? Could it be region locked?
I can confirm that I received mail today via the AKB48 mobame app using an Android phone so there shouldn't a be an app-wide problem (and they'd send a notice informing everyone if there were some sending problems). - Which version of the AKB app you have? The newest one should be version 1.0.2. - Which members do you subscribe to? Other subscribers could probably confirm whether they've received anything from those girls lately.
The 57 PD48 girls is still under SNS ban so if it's one of those girl, expect no SNS until Saturday. And member are usually only obliged to 1 mail per 3 days under normal circumstances.
Depend on member --- actually it might not even be on twitter at all. The common one seems to be [member-nickname]メール or [member-nickname]め, but it still depend a lot on member. You kinda need to snoop around Japanese fandom of your member to know exactly what it will be. For example, for Mako, the preferred method to reply is either just tag her on Twitter, or send DM on IG if you want it to be private. #まこめ is sometimes used, but more often than not it's the previous two methods.
Does anyone know how to recover an account? I just decided to get Mobame again (I had it from February 2018 to Tano Yuuka's graduation). I have a new phone, but I still have my old one so I opened up Mobame on my old phone to transfer accounts, but I was logged out right away for some reason. Then it said something like "We will recover your data automatically", loaded unsuccessfully for a few seconds and now it's asking me to log in but I have no clue what my ID was - that is why I turned my old phone on in the first place. If anyone knows, I would reaaaaaaally appreciate the help. I'm hesitant to send an email to support because I'm not in Japan.
I just checked the apps, and it seems the ID is some random alphanumerical code Sorry, I don't know how to be more helpful. Looks like you have to email them. But isn't mobame now available for overseas fans?
@SunnyHighland Thank you either way for your help. I can pay for the app but if I go to the app's page on the Google Play Store, it says it's unavailable in my region. They accept my credit card but 'technically' it should be impossible for me to even download the app in the first place ^^; I sent them an email now, though.
