Single Nogizaka46 12th (Taiyou Knock) (15/07/22)

I like it...it's not super amazing or anything but a nice song. It's got a little of that old-school AKB48 vibe....something kind of like Ponytail to Shushu with that piano...but not quite as exciting. It may not be extraordinary but it's much better than the shitty summer songs AKB has been doing for the past 5 years or so...I can live with it.

 

After more repeat listens, I do hear some of that old AKB sound mixed with the typical 48G summery songs. Considering my own tastes, this would be a good combo on paper but unfortunately the final product just doesn't so much for me. I feel like it falls on the blandest side of both worlds, really monotone vocals, very typical melody, ups and downs in the most expected places. The only positive is the instrumental but I'm still finding the song pretty forgettable after it ends. :-/

Then again, I was meh on Durian Shounen until the PV came out so that could always happen for Taiyou Knock.

Yeah, I don't get those comments either. Early Nogi was like a mix of Onyanko Club and Defstar AKB, they established their sound and image in that era then from Girls' Rule onwards starting doing more polished and experimental tracks. Ikoma was center for all of those singles so...

Oide Shampoo still remains one of my favorite Nogi singles, I wouldn't mind something like that again.

Was disappointed by the depressing 11th single, I appreciate this one. It sounds like a summer song, it is joyful, the dance is energetic... won't say it's the best song ever but it's quite pleasing at the first hearing.
About the clothes, I do like them. Not fan of the dull colors but still OK. However, I must confess it does not look like summer attire (unless you want your own portable sauna lol). Natsufree's were better suited IMHO.

 

Sauna... Tsihihii. Idont know are you're meen that hot room, but there was also smoking sauna... Natsuno free & ... Was ok.

 

Most people here are quite straightforward. Their responses are "understandable".

If I have to describe the song in one word, it's "pleasant". Can almost picture cruising with the top down past some beachfront strip with this song humming from the stereo.

Definite similarities to the other summery songs, and I personally like it better than Girl's Rule; but a notch behind Natsu no F&E and Hashire. It's just an inoffensive summer fluff type song that's easy on the ears. Will definitely make my list of songs I'll loop while going for a drive...

 

One of my favourite things about Nogizaka songs is that they're usually from a girl's point of view or gender neutral which makes them a bit more natural sounding than a lot of 48G songs. Even so these lyrics are basically a carbon copy of Natsu no Free & Easy which does annoy me a bit lol, nothing particularly interesting or moving in here. Will still be a great song live though, will get the crowd excited during the summer tour for sure

 

Now that you mention it, it does absolutely sound like the first couple of Nogi singles (a la guru or hashire) crossed with HKT. Not a bad sound, to be frank, but only in small doses haha.

Wow.. At first I thought the song is boring, but when I hear the instrument before the last chorus.. The song turned out beautiful to my ears..
I'm curious about how the PV and covers will be. After two consecutive kami-single to me, I hope this is the 3rd to my ears

The covers are kind of boring, but they suit the song I suppose~ I like how there is a 7-11 edition~ that's cute lol
