You make no sense. Bunshun would have announced it regardless of whether she said something or not. And it would have overshadowed the ssk anyway, so its better for her fans to hear it from here than read it on a article. I'm not happy about it but you have to admit she did the right thing.

So I'm not trying to say that what Riripon did was the right thing, but I find some comments of the other (ex-) members disappointing. More so because i actually like them.

Takamina: Didn't she perform a similar stunt for the Mechaike Special? She decided it would be a good idea to fake dating, fake graduating, fake shaving heads and broadcast the dumbfound faces of her teammates nationwide. Now this did not damage the reputation of the group (also you could argue that reheating the head shave incident brought back some unpleasant memories), but i doubt that it did much good for the trust between the members.

Naachan: Her comment could also refer to her fellow teammate and this years glorious winner Miss Sashihara Rino. Would she have said something similar back then, when a seniors scandal was hot news? We might never know.

Juri: Can't remember that she made a similar comment last year with the whole NyanNyanKamen thing. Only joining SSK to have a huge ass stage to call it quits. Sounds a bit similar to me with the only exception... Yes, right, senior member.

Double standards...

 

She could have announced it before the SSK too. How long has Bunshun had this story prepared? They had to have known it from little while back. Not months, necessarily, but maybe weeks. I'm just saying that I personally don't think that the entire group's event was the place to do it. I don't care that she announced it at all, yes it was right, I'm just saying that she has other means of saying it. I'm not focused on whether the act was right or not, I'm only talking about the where. She could have done it right before on showroom or on Twitter. I don't care that she announced it at all. It was great shock value yes and then I thought about the group, not Riripon.

I hope I made it clear what I'm trying to stay.

 

^I think the same as you. I'm happy for Riripon but I don't understand why she had to announce it at SSK.

But I have one question. What did Takamina and Yuko say and where (interview, twitter, etc.)?

Sasshi's scandal was already 3 years finished by the time it came out. Shocking but not the same as a current idol saying she's getting married.

Another skit, not remotely comparable. And not a scandal.

Nope, you're just desperately reaching to minimise this and failing.

The only scandal as bad as this was Minegishi's and she shaved her damn head in remorse.

 

I mean....Yukirin got caught with a Johnny's ikemen and the whole thing was basically over and done with after she cried at the theater. Murashige cracks jokes about her scandal. Milky got caught twice and it didn't stop her from being NMB's second ace. Not to mention all the private insta leaks of the past couple of years. Riripon announcing marriage is probably one of AKB's juiciest scandals to date for its sheer wtf-factor, but let's not pretend like dating and getting caught at it is a rare happening in this group.

 

Eh... I saw this posted in fb and it's supposed to be Oshima Yuko's reaction to the marriage announcement, but is it real???

 

OMG I always love Juri but now... she is so ugly for me... She is like Kirsten from Mona Lisa Smile... She seems to consider herself a very correct girl. Sooo smart, so correct, so good... That they have the right to criticize others and worry for others. I realy hate these type people....

Well then, how about Micchan's, or Yukirin's, or Milky's or Miki's? Why no comment about theirs?

So having your fans powervote you into senbatsu to have a huge stage and alot of press coverage to call it quits is not comparable to not tell your fans before SSK that your scandal is gonna get published so that you have a stage and alot of press coverage to basically say that your out? OK, my bad.

And later recorded a video that went viral, and had a much bigger negativ impact on the public perception compared to the actual scandal. But it probably wasn't that big of an issue because Takamina, Yuko, Juri and Naachan didn't comment it.

 

On twitter a bunch of people posted what Yuko actually said and that image was alongside it. However I haven't had time to translate it, especially since it's only bits and pieces. I'd like to know the full thing before I put out any information.

 

Riripon is super cute. I'm not surprised she got snatched up by some lucky dude but is this why management self sabotage the event? They were scared if enough angry fans were there, there would be rioting or worst?

This Sayanee's SR footage...watch at 45.00 to around 47.00 it was the time that the MCs and Yukirin heard Riripon's marriege announcement...but Sayanee didnt look surprised at all...moreover she seems to take it super lightly...

Instead she said sth like "...marry with NMB?"

What could this all mean...does Sayanee know this is another prank? Or what

Since this thread almost grew from 11 to 15 pages in just a day, I'll take a guess and assume not everyone here is aware of Riripon's personality or has shown any interest in her thus far, so let me throw this nugget of knowledge: even in NMB she has a special license to say whatever the hell goes through her mind, definitely more so than Momoka. Listen to her on radio, watch her on YNN shown, follow her on Showroom whenever she sees fit to stream (or read her interview on the latest issue of Kadokawa DirecT :3). Riripon is a specialist of enjou rousen, she makes any controversial remark coming out of the mouths of Sashihara and Kaotan sound tame by comparison.

Really deplorable behavior from Juri, anyway. As if it isn't bad enough to be completely ignorant of other groups and the personalies that populate it, she also has the gall to pass judgement on someone she hardly ever met (though I bet that, hadn't this happened, she wouldn't have minded taking a selfie with her after the event, just to show what "good friends" they all are, which is the only true hypocrisy of idol groups).

 

What would she react in that situation? I don't know if she knows this beforehand, but I assume that she doesn't. Then she must spend time figuring out if this is a prank or not. During this time she wouldn't show much emotion. On Twitter, she also says that she doesn't know what to say about this situation.
