Yeah, it's just for some TV show (I think?); they're taking a boot camp tour. I don't know whether it's for a Korean TV show or a Japanese one, though. (Maybe the latter; I don't know how popular AKB48 is in South Korea. I think there was one member here who goes to Korean AKB48 fan boards though...) Besides, there's "celebrity boot camp" shows in the West as well...
I don't really see this as pro-military propaganda. If it was, they'd be doing it with the JSDF, not the Korean military (who have National Service so it's not like they need to boost recruitment- you have to join the military anyway!). Hopefully it's part of a wider "Japan & Korea friendship" thing. They sure as hell need all the help they can get... :roll:

At the same event a new unit will debut called [AKB-Idoling!!!] formed from both groups and in the latter half of February they will make their CD debut on the Pony Canyon label. AKB48 and Idoling!!!??? I dunno know about that, AKB48 is so much better. But if Erika Yazawa is one of the Idoling!!! girls selected that will be cool. That girl is stacked!

When I show their PVs to my friends, they say: 1 person looks like a korean idol --> Kato Sayaka 2 persons are very cute --> Koizumi Rumi & Yazawa Erika Me myself has a personal favourite --> Takiguchi Mira And a pure vietnamese --> Fonchi ^she gives me the courage that a south east asian girl can also be an idol XD
