Many people seem to think it was shot about a month ago. Sakura mentioned she had a schedule in her private mail around that time, and people are connecting the dots. It was like a couple of weeks before IZ*ONE's disbandment. The photobook would have been shot well after the HYBE/Big Hit rumors.

The HYBE/Big Hit rumors came soon after CJ confirmed that there wouldn't be an extension. I don't remember if they came before or after IZ*ONE's last concert, but they were all around the same time frame.

If I recall correctly, it was CJ announcement -> Last Concert -> HYBE/Big Hit rumor, and it all happened within one week.

It was quite the whirlwind for WIZ*ONEs.

 

Slave contracts are typically for unknown trainees in their first contract who have no negotiating power and are desperate just to debut. Not big fish who have their choice of competing companies and brand name recognition.

 

I think this is a bit idealistic. Sakura has an idea of the industry in both countries, but that doesn't mean she isn't at risk for falling into a trap. Her contract might have a certain duration and if the group she gets put into isn't doing well, then what can she do besides wait it out? Even if the contract is only for 2-5 years, that's still quite a long time, at the end of which she would be too old to re-debut.

 

Plus the style of the photography is totally Korean, it could have come straight from one of Iz*one's album photobooks.

I think Sakura was done with HKT whether there was an extension or not, I've thought that since pretty much the start of Iz*one.

 

You're right about the duration situation. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of the whole debt and payment negotiations part. I don't think she's going to be burdened the same way a trainee would.

 

i mean, this is exactly what happened with AKB right now... waiting for a new single for more than a year and there's no announcement for it so far..

i think she is smarter than that, she's not a newbie in showbiz so i'm pretty sure she already consulted with a lawyer or a professional and going through every clause in that contract before signing them.

 

And personaly for me, aftergraduation activities of other members are still interesting, but i dont care at all about kpop and its visuals and atmosphere, so Sakura will be lost for me and a lot of people with the same taste.

Yep, there are members continue as actress, stage performer or solo. Or an idol in another jpop idol group. But there are the ones continue as producer, MC, reporter, lyricist and etc. I saw radio DJ ones too and variety character ones too but interestingly there are much members choosed jobs out of ent industry like graphic designer, fashion designer and even dog trainer or sport coach. There are ones became youtuber, or opened their own cafe, restaurant or their own fashion brand etc. I saw the ones became gravure idol, model, and even AV actress! Really so much different choices.. I saw so many members graduated from university after graduated from group. And doing jobs so different from entertainment industry like graduate from law faculty for example or anything. Unless they wont disappear from social media and from fans eyes or fully retired. It's okey they do anything to me..

 

Do you guys think that if Sakura signs with BH/HYBE she will get a BTS level contract ? I mean she can make a lot of money in China for Hybe but i am curious if her contract its going to be six zeros if she signs with them.

 

No. I'm pretty sure the BTS members have a decent percentage of stock in HYBE as well as other income from it. BTS is a proven commodity at this point, while Sakura who has a good level of fame in her own right, isn't at their level.

That said, I think it's hard to really speculate on that because I'm not sure what they see her doing, and also she'd be one of the first people they would sign that has an established fanbase in Asia. She will at the very least get compensated pretty well if she does sign with them.

Not really because AKB48 members are free to graduate whenever they want; which is evident by the fact that they have been graduating by the masses this past year. Just look at NMB48 and Team 8 especially. It's harder in Kpop to just leave the group and move onto a different path. Everyone agrees 48G is a stepping stone into the entertainment industry, whereas being a Kpop idol is most of these idols' main aspiration in life. Yes, idols might move on to acting, song writing, modelling etc after their group has disbanded, but it'd be false to say it is treated the same way as being a 48G member.

EDIT: Also, there's a reason it's called 'comeback' in Kpop. Most groups disappear for a bit in between promotion periods except for social media posts. AKB48 has still been doing things, they've been performing on TV, they've performed at festivals, they've held theatre performances and they've had a few concerts. That is not even mentioning the solo activities that members are able to do.

I personally think that's a bit harsh. That's a person's entire life you're talking about. I feel bad for Sakura that she wasn't able to announce the news herself (and she felt bad for overshadowing Madoka), but it's not going to ruin her life or career at all that this has happened. You can't punish someone for a minor inconvenience by ruining their future.

 

Maybe kura doesnt want to show her boobs constantly to weirdos anymore. At least in kpop, she needs to polish her skills rather than polishing her body every week for horny men. I do hope she will be one of kpop mega star but when she was in izone, i dont see she had starred in many variety or tv shows. I wonder if where she will be going..

Why so many people cant accept the fact? Yes they did dance in oversexualizes outfit but even the fans doesnt want the company do that especially when people know there are underage kids in the group. In japan, however, no one even bothers to say anything when these high school girls keep posing like soft porn actress for magazine spread, and it is not even for underwear ads but for attracting horny men to buy the magazine.
