Sitrep from the in-person talks - the e-tickets are working reasonably well but I’ve witnessed a couple of issues with staff iPads locking up. The members of course are all behind screens made out of flexible but strong plastic and under the circumstances they’re not bad and I feel like I’ve met my oshis even though you have to stand behind a red line about 25cm away.

However one big change is that there’s no privacy partitions so all the booths are open to view. It’s good in that you can watch other members in adjacent lanes but there’s also a downside - while I was queuing for Odaeri, I noticed Megu looking at me and I don’t have any tickets for her today…

…and then I saw a late message that Zunchan is unwell and not attending so I transferred her tickets to Megu and we’re both good again. [hehe]

I got to meet all the 18ki members and yes I can confirm that Saechan does indeed speak good English. :)

That’s all from me for now, I’ll do a fuller write-up after I get home late tomorrow…

…but I’ve just met Hiichan and she remembered me and she blew me a kiss again aaaaaahhhhhhhhh…

I didn’t realize 18ki had individual slots open for application now. Definitely preferable to me over the slots where it’s the full group of them, but only a couple seconds each. Just applied for Kohi and Kasumin.

I've applied for Saechan on 7/9. The impression I got from meeting her in Yokohama is that although she's good at English she's not very confident so I'll try and speak clearly and hopefully I can encourage her a little. It'd be great if many overseas fans can also join in the online talks with her so she can gain a large international following. :)

Sorry for the delay. I was supposed to fly to Italy for a holiday this week, but it got cancelled very short-notice so it's been a hectic couple of days. Apologies in advance for any mistakes on these.

61st Single (Doushite mo Kimi ga Suki da) - 7th Sale Round 0 (Started on the 17th of May 2023)

Slots for May 27th and 28th have been removed.

    Legend:
sold-out IRL dates/available IRL dates + sold-out online dates/available online dates = combined dates (+/–difference from previous round) Member Name

    Example:
    01/30 + 23/24 = 24/54 (+02) Oguri Yui (29+1=30 slots nearly sold out)
Yui has 30 slots available IRL and sold out one of them. She has 24 dates available online, and has sold out 23 of them. This makes a total of 24 out of 54 sold out. The number in brackets signifies the difference from the previous round (i.e. 2 more than previously). The numbers in brackets after the name show how many dates IRL + online = total only have a few tickets left to win/nearly sold out.

61st Single (Doushite mo Kimi ga Suki da) - 7th Sale Round 2 (18th to 19th of May 2023)

    Legend:
sold-out IRL dates/available IRL dates + sold-out online dates/available online dates = combined dates (+/–difference from previous round) Member Name

Stupid question, I’m sure, but can you clarify what you mean about slots for the 27th/28th being removed? As far as I’m aware, I’m still meeting Mizumin this weekend.

They were removed from being sold in this and future sales. In other words, they're closed.

Ahh, sure. I actually knew that, but for some reason didn’t consider that in this context. I just made the leap to those dates being canceled. Thank you.

Funny fact: In every sale until now, Shitao has 10 sold out slots, all the five from 05/27 and 05/28. With those dates removed she doesn't have any sold out slot left.

Sorry for the confusion and if I scared you! The meetings will still go ahead, as @Aka said, it's just that the credit card payment for this round of applications will be open until tomorrow (the 25th) and it's just very close to the 27th, so they'd rather not offer these two days for any further applications in case of payment issues. They usually remove them from applying if the application rounds either overrun the actual date or it's very close, like in this case.

Before the split AKB48 would have sister group members in senbatsu. Leaving less spots for AKB48 members. I think Mirei would have had a spot. And before you say AKB48 had 18 and 22 members for release es before, that’s still spots going to sister members. Anyway the tiktok post is mirei dancing to doushite mo kimi wa sukida

I see. I wonder whether sister group members would, one day, come back to participate. (Whether it is necessary is another matter). *IMHO* the fact that sister groups are now managed by different company is the true reason why they have akb only member senbatsu. Not sure whether it changes in the future (or even desirable at all)

Exclusion of sister group members might leave more room for AKB48 members and more cohesive performance but... the capability to inflate your sales as high as around one million when your group is reaching 20 years is quite a major flex.
