ok here's my suggestion for an alternative meeting place: Place: Wako Family KTV and Restaurant my plan so far: we all first meet-up at glorietta which is extremely convenient if you are coming in by mrt. lots of stores to wait inside, with the best place being national bookstore at the second floor. after we have gathered, we all walk together towards wako ktv and party. here's the only difficult part: wako is approximately 30 minutes from glorietta by foot. so why did i suggest the place? its one of the well known spots for those who want to sing japanese songs. the machines are direct imports from japan, and are pretty much updated. i went there today at around 7pm, and the owner told me that the songs are updated up until june 2009. i was lucky that almost nobody was there today, so i had a few minutes to play with the machine itself, which is exactly what we are using at karaoke bars in japan. these are the AKB48 songs available: aitakatta aoi sora no soba ni itte keibetsu shite ita aijyou sakura no hanabiratachi skirt hirari seifuku ga jama wo suru dear my teacher bingo boku no taiyou yuuhi wo mite iru ka romansu irane *note: for non-akb songs, there are books and books of tokusatsu songs and anime songs. now ofcourse, for us fans who know hundreds of akb48 songs, those are not enough, but hey, i was surprised that they have akb48 at all . and oh the lyrics are all in kanji, so if we do decide to go to this place, i'll print out the romaji lyrics (or if somebody wants to volunteer, please). now for the price: standard is 85 pesos/person/hour. if 10 or less people will be going, i am willing to treat you guys for the first hour. i'm sure 2 hours should be barely enough for us. and there are party packages good for 10 people wherein 2 hours of karaoke time + food will be served for the price of 2700 pesos. if we go with the party package, i'll pay 1000 pesos, you guys take care of the rest. promo of half price for those who are 11 years old or younger, so if we have any jurina-ers (a year ago) in the group, you're lucky. i'll post even more details of the place if you guys are interested. the full address of the place is 826 pasay road, san lorenzo, makati city. would love to hear your comments on this one.
