    I received a clip of tonight's Romeo and Juliet performance via the Akiyoshi fan committee. (Sorry, I can't share it. Although it looks like they allowed cameras at the show, so there should be videos popping up pretty soon)

    Anyway, Yuka-chan was singing, dancing, jumping around. No limp detected at all. She was also wearing heels.

    It seems her foot has recovered nicely.

    Akiyoshi came in 73rd place in the senbatsu sousenkyo with 19,371 votes. This is the first time she's ranked when I voted for her so I'm pretty happy.

    She showed off some of her multilingual skills in her acceptance speech. Was that Mandarin she was speaking?

    Congrats to Yukachan. Her reaction to being called was awesome!

    BTW, most of my votes went for her. In fact, given the small amount of votes that she beat out the 74th rank, it looks like my votes DID make a difference. (I'm glad I didn't sell my votes, which I was seriously considering)

    A couple of interesting notes. Her vote count far exceeded the estimate predicted by her fan committee. Granted, there are a lot of votes that come from outside that "inner circle" Given their own exit poll, we knew she would rank somewhere the moment Shiichan's vote total was announced, but were worried she wouldn't crack her goal of 80th.

    Oh, and before the event the committee predicted a rank of #72. All in all an amazing prediction!

    The song is from the film Meguri Awase no Hōsoku. The movie was first screened late last year in Kyushu, and there will be screenings in Tokyo in July. Apparently this wasn't a widely released film, as the promotional pages indicate DVDs of the film were sold at the screenings. In any case, I think it's a nice song, and she sounds and looks great.
