Chiizu went through a sad episode in the August 3 theater performance. I'll quote myself from the LOD thread:

Chiizu had been sick before (she had missed the 2 previous stage performances), and it seems like she didn't fully recover. However she felt frustrated because she wasn't performing well, which seems to be the reason why she broke down on the stage. That night she posted this on G+:

The whole thing was quite touching. Chiizu is such a huge, untapped talent. And seeing her cry on stage because she couldn't perform up to her standards was very sad. Fortunately she is already back to performing on the theater, so I trust that she has made a full recovery.

During the 2013.08.11 youtube stream of KKS party hajimaru Chiizu was center for most group songs and she did a great job!

^ She really did! I'm glad to see that she recovered from whatever disease was troubling her. She's back to her happy and genki self.

It's funny to see her so energetic on stage, but then when I watched the latest Variety 48 episode she seemed so shy! She was really quiet, hoping no one would notice her. It was so different from her behavior on stage.

Chiizu definitely needs more attention. She's a good performer, good singer, good dancer, and she's really cute to boot. So yeah, she deserves more love! Here's a random cute picture from her G+:

 

In the Ko usagi Dojo episode that aired in July Umemoto was the HKT48 member that was recognized by random people asked in tokyo, must have been a lucky chance to ask the couple that had been to the hakata theater. The DM links to the show were taken down but if come across it again I'll post it here.

She has shown some real leadership qualities among the 2nd gens, athletic ability, MC and center positions in the RS stage. And I like that her nickname is "Cheeze."

After handling a basketball in TMSG, her Melon Juice Extra single video is filled with it too. Definately a sporty type.

That video is so cute! DeJure Thank you so much for sharing. It was funny how she kept getting frustrated, I'm sure she could hold it longer when she was practising on her own.

I love Chiizu, watching KKS LODs I always find myself looking at her, I think she is a great performer.

 

About her nickname: She has explained that, since there are two girls named Izumi in the group, they call her Chiizu because she's the smaller one. It's a pun on chiichai which means "small".

Watching that video, I can't help but notice once again how Chiizu is committed to succeeding. Notice how she's kind of tense, nervous about being able to do the ball thing. She had the same look during the TMSG episode when she was the last one holding those bars. Like she's thinking that she's not allowed to fail. It's no wonder she cried on the stage when she felt she couldn't perform well.

 

I knew that I wasn't the only one thinking that. It's one of the features I find most dramatic in a member by having the potential to go very right with limitless tears of happiness when a rare chance goes really well and the potential to go very wrong with depressive toughts and complexes when a couple of iffy/unlucky preformances stack up.

 

She like totally reminds me of Sayanee in that vid... especially with that hairstyle and when she grins and turns her head to the right. Also, IMO you gotta spin it with your middle finger. [nod]

二回目の夜更新ですよー\^^/☆

今日もお忙しい中公演に来てくださった皆さん本当にありがとうございます(¨)∨
Thank you very much to everyone who came to the performance during your busy schedules.

今日の公演は最初はとっても緊張してしまって、笑顔がこわばってしまっていたのですが、皆さんと一緒に盛り上がっていると自然と笑顔になれてとっても楽しかったです(*´`)
During the performance today, at first I was nervous and my smile was stiff, but as I got excited with everyone I had fun and my smile became more natural. (*´`)

前回出たときにあったミスも今回は直すことできたのでよかったのですが、まだまだ完璧ではないのでたくさん練習しますっ！
This time I was able to correct the errors from my previous appearance, but it's still not perfect, so I'll practice a lot!

後半MCではフルーツバスケットをしました>ω<
On the second-half MC, we played fruit basket >ω<

久々にしてなんだか子供の頃をおもいだしました！！！
It had been a long time since I played it, and it reminded me of my childhood times!!!

Wow Chiizu translations! [party] My favorite miniature front-line performer.

She sounds very nice and sincere, but also very serious about her work. As we all know. I hope she can tone down the worrying a bit over time. [nod] She's pretty good captain material for a future team KIV, at least that's what I've been thinking.

And I pretty sure that Yurinee is Yuriya.

I watched the Team H performance with Chiizu (131029, the one she mentioned in a post above). The fruit basket game was pretty fun! During the game, someone mistakenly called Chiizu "Sakura". Chiizu's face when she heard that was too funny. She also tried to get Boss out of a chair, but it seems like Boss is stronger than her.

It does seem like he hates losing...
