Which she said she'd probably only do when she's about to graduate...

But thankfully there likely won't be an SSK next year, what with the Olympics and all.

Olympic is literally The Big Thing™. It going to be hard as hell to find proper venue, let alone build the mood.

had no idea it was THAT big (i'm not Japanese). now i understand your point about the venue.
but i'll definitely choose akb over any olympic event haha.

hey guys yuiri centered 2 songs in their setlist in TIF 2019 day3 (Flying Get and Oogoe Diamond). they totally brought her up on the mc part and she she had a lot of screentime too. i think it's safe to say that they're officially lowkey pushing her right now.

This is fun. Apparently the official count is that if member appeared during main performance it counts. Note that official count isn't posted anywhere.

Normally, when you see fan celebrating a certain number of performance, it is counted by that member community (usually mainly on mixi). The norm that almost everyone used is that the one-time stage doesn't count (e.g. anniversary stage, new year stage, etc). By that count, it's still 964 performances. [1] [2]

It's fun to see if there will be any change in overall fan communities regarding counting going forward.

And this flower from the fans looks like it was ordered in a hurry as well: https://twitter.com/yuirii_murayama/status/1218499188289241089/photo/1

for me, every performance counts. the only difference i would make is a full performance vs appearing for a couple of songs, like in special stage celebration when "non-important" members sing a group song and then leave.

Yeah, that's exactly why it went this way. It's hard to quantify in many cases, so they just don't count that type of stage altogether.

In her mobame, Yuiri wrote to the effect of, "There's different ways of counting the number of performances, but it doesn't change the fact that I have been on stage 1000 times, so it's decided that today will be the 1000th time[1]."

[1] The last part is「… 今日が1000回ということにしています」 which I'm not too sure how to translate.

A lot of the stages in that extra 36 are graduation stages, anniversaries, half-length stages like New Years and Stage Fighter. Although there's also some one-time full stages.

She got flowers from kingrecords and gifts from the osarecompany, so I suspect it's that side that's pushing it for now. The timing is convenient.

By the traditional counting of it, it's 964 stages http://akiha176.web.fc2.com/akb48_005.html

If extra stages counted then a bunch of HKT members like Harutan, Serina, Shimono, Minazaou and Natsumikan would have around 1k appearances too. HKT have a lot more "road-trip" stages at other 48 group's theaters too but I guess it would be inconvenient for HKT members to surpass AKB at something like this.

Anyway, congrats to Yuiri, she is legit awesome.
