Muto Tomu (Tomu) / 12th Generation

Yeah, the sharpness doesn't increase much (or really at all, I guess...) but if you wanted to edit them for some purpose, a larger scan is useful.


I was going to mention something else, what... oh right.

Tomu will be on the radio again tonight! This time she'll be on Bayfm ON8+1 with Maachun and Chori, hosted by Noro Kayo! It starts at 21:00 JST, and you can listen via Radiko (from a JPN IP), or wait for the inevitable recordings to pop up on youtube.

 

I have never had any luck with freebie VPNs and Hola sells your bandwidth, I guess I'll wait for a kind soul to put up a rip somewhere, he he he.

 

I think I've mentioned this before, but the SoftEther VPN client w/ the VPN Gate plugin works pretty well for me. It's open source software written by a university in Japan, intended to help people in countries with oppressive firewalls get access to the wider Internet, so most of the best connections are in Japan itself.

 

Yeah, I've looked into VPN Gate, but haven't been in the mood to set it up with OpenVPN. Looks like a lot of the servers provide ovpn configs, so it shouldn't be too bad from my end.

 

Yeh... the SoftEther client (with the plugin) keeps an updated list of servers, but you can do it that way too.


edit: Oh wonderful, it's not just limited to Japan, it's limited to certain areas of Japan. Finally managed to find a server in the right region.

I can't seem to find any information of whether it's going to be broadcast or not.

Tomu will feature in the FNS Summer Song Festival 2015 with AKB48. I think it starts at 19:00 JST but I don't know when exactly AKB48 wlll appear (it's a long program).

Pretty good screen time! Good performances. Now Sakura is everywhere, I wish she can get less robotic LOL Her facial expressions are flat. Yui has the same problem with expressions. The election senbatsu is great, though, awesome energetic backline LOL

It's finally starting to hit me that Tomu is really in senbatsu, since we could see her much more in this performance of Halloween Night compared to the first one. I feel the same about Milky, Churi, and Kaotan. Seeing more TomuYui also helps.

That whole MC Hammer bit was hilarious. I'm really glad Tomu got 16th place in SSK, this is a massive amount of exposure for Tomu compared to before and she does not disappoint.

Let's continue to support our beautiful 20-year-old oshimen!

I still find it kind of funny that A~chan actually knows Tomu and Mion. Many people here didn't even know / care who Tomu was until she got into senbatsu through the sousenyko Would be awesome if Tomu gets invited to A~chan's radio show, I'm sure she can learn a lot from the venerable performer / entertainer.

As usual, with concerts come announcements. I'll try to summarise the ones relevant to Tomu:

Final and First Team Performances
First, we finally have dates for the end of the old teams and the start of the new. Unfortunately, there's a three month gap between the two Supposedly they are going to perform some special wota-celebrity designed setlists in the meantime.

For Tomu this means:

Team A Senshuuraku: 08/23
Team K Shonichi: 11/30​

It's not yet clear what the new teams will be performing. One would hope that this huge gap is to prepare for new stages, but we've been waiting so long...

Tomu's birthday is on the 25th of November, so the Shonichi also might end up being her Seitansai, or else they might delay it like they did Mayu's. Probably a lot of other girls whose birthdays are being skipped too.

Other Upcoming Stages
Two other upcoming performances of interest:

Team A Kawaei Grad: 08/04
Team B Mocchi Grad: 08/17

Tomu is scheduled to perform in the 08/04 stage, and I hope they let her take part in Mocchi grad stage, at least in the Encore portion.

AKB48 Group Sports Festival
There will be another Sports Festival on 08/25, this time with the sister groups participating (at least, SKE, NMB, and HKT). Tomu should be free to participate this time. It will be held in Tokyo Dome, and admission is free (!) The last one was aired on BS Sky Perfect TV, so hopefully this one gets a similar treatment.

Once I post this I'll add the above to the list (see my sig). I think there's something else first though... OH YEAH.

Weekly Playboy 08/17
The 08/17 issue (週刊プレイボ-イ 2015年 8/17 号), that actually comes out tomorrow (08/03), features what I believe are teaser photos for AKB's Swimsuit Surprise, including this:




Commentary:
Good grief that's a huge gap between teams. So much stuff could happen, will happen in that time frame. What if someone wants to graduate? Nope, sorry, gotta stick around another 3 months. And birthdays... and... well, they might do some in these special stages, depending on what that entails. Hopefully one or more of the four celebrities designing them are Tomu oshis .

*sigh* Don't get me started on Mocchi's grad concert vs. Kawaeii's. Ugh. I mean, I can think of logical reasons why it ended up this way, but it still really sucks, especially since they both happened on the same day. Kawaei's was almost Acchan-level with all the stuff going on, while Mocchi's seemed like an afterthought by comparison. Still, at least Tomu and the rest of Oshima Team K got to share it with her a little.

And speaking again of Tomu... eh. It's late, so I'll write more tomorrow, but suffice to say her inner Ponkotsu showed itself today and yesterday

It sounds like she also had really good positions during the noon stage, but less so the evening stage since a bunch of HKT members flooded in to steal spots.
