Sashihara Rino (Sasshi) / AKB 5th Generation

Typically those standins at the back of Wide Na are rising stars so I think it's a big deal that Hana is able to be there. She's not the most fast thinking talker and I remember Sasshi had to "save" her during an interview when she got stumped on a question, but this should be a great experience for her and for the Wide Na audience to see her smile.

I read some translations of what Akarin said in that showroom. Her thought processes really impressed me. She kind of reminds me of Kojiharu where she is trying to develop her ownn brand. If there are more girls like her in this group it would be a much noisier place. It is no wonder Sasshi takes a liking to her.

 

On the other hand, I'm impressed how Sasshi can observe people and values them for their deeds (like the fact Akarin edits her videos all by herself with no one helping her). Be recognized by the senpais makes all the difference to the juniors.

 

Sasshi always seems to have high affinity for girls who knows how to promote themselves, especially those that works hard on their sns like Kaotan, Yuriya, Rikahime and Akari.

 

oh wow.. I had no idea Akarin has a popular YouTube channel. I thought in general 48g idols are prohibited from doing things out of the ordinary.

Goodness, Sashihara is everywhere on Japanese TV. It seems like she's on everyday. You wonder if she ever fears being on too much and running the risk people getting tired of her.

 

Yes I agree you have a point some fans might get bored, but for myself it depends on what angle you're looking at. If it's from AKB fans perspectives, sometimes fragility in idol life gives a color and couragement to cheer her to do better. But in her career perspective, the stability of her work is good for her future because in the end graduation will get the member to the gate between AKB fans and casual fans who rarely followed AKB group activity. But this only my opinion tho'

 

Not really. If people get sick of her they stop watching and she won't be on the show anymore. The rule of thumb in show biz is to work as much as possible while you can because celebrities become irrelevant quickly.

 

well, Sasshi is on TV every day (she had 350 appearances last year), but I think people getting tired of her is the least of her worries. I think she passed the trial stage of a new upcoming talent a long time ago and entered stable and secure stage of established talents.
Japanese people are quick to jump on and off some new trend bandwagon like one-shot gagger, but once the talent passed a certain point and proved him/herself, he/she can stay in showbiz for decades (if nothing extraordinary happens)

Sasshi appeared in two episodes of HanaTaka recently and she'll record two more on 2/16! looks like another (semi-)regular show under Sasshi's belt))
