The way she talks it seems the fans are the only thing keeping her going through this.

She may likely take some time off very soon though.

If you google 田中美久, then click on videos, then click on tools and choose youtube as the source, most have みくりん in the title, but some don't.

    田中美久 (HKT48 チームH)Showroom 2017-3-9
    170527 SHOWROOM 田中美久(HKT48 チームH)

You can also put in 田中美久 -みくりん in the google search under videos, but the search still fails within youtube.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=田中美久&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS504US508&tbm=vid&source=lnt&tbs=srcf:H4sIAAAAAAAAAEvKzMlMAmK95PxcNe3K_1NKS0qRUMMc8PT89Xy-rQK0yM6-yNLUkEaKmpDyzpCS1CMzOLMyshIgCADUmynxHAAAA&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiMprKkrKPXAhVJxGMKHdIeBoYQpwUIIQ&biw=1484&bih=899&dpr=1

Edit: I just googled 田中美久 -みくりん and clicked on videos and got mostly youtube results.

someone on 5ch said that there is a porn actress called 田中美久, so this could be a reason for Youtube filter, and it has nothing to do with Miku's mental state.

I'm not exactly a stranger to the world of jav but I'd never heard of her, so I did a search of asianscreens and some of the movie titles are .... definitely not something I could mention here!

Moving swiftly along...I think the search name thing just came across as some kind of weird coincidence.

    • since 5 yrs ago
    • can't talk about it with fans (on SR esp)
    • can't talk about it with members
    • little things piling up
    • recent catapult of rank in SSK over Nako, who basically switched places with Miku's last SSK rank
Working relationship with Nako? One of only a few reasons that hit all of these touchstones...

Zeroing for cultural differences, and the fact that she's bang-center of max-emo age... she may just be interpreting things a bit pessimistically... or that's what I'm hoping.

It could even be HKT'd have expected NakoMiku dynamic competitive friction, but Hana's getting the HKT-centric attention from mgmt... Miku has to weather not only attention from antis with her new ranking but no support from Nako about how to progress. Nako's had, to be fair, a lot more responsibility early on that Miku was overlooked for in their respective careers. Nako has more than one reason to take this approach, IMO.

I'm a pessimist myself so sprinkle salt heavily. Want this to be nonsense, because I like both of them, and want both to rise and have good careers. But infighting happens to the best of us. :(

well, it seems Sasshi's tweeting about Mikurin. You know it must be serious if she's addressing member related concerns on her account.

Someone on Twitter translated her two-part tweet:

Also, seems like she has an OJS48 near her lane today. Which, according to Twitter, didn't happen before.

I don't know if you have watched the full recording of her Showroom already, but the fan "harassment" she talked about boiled down to just:
    ● fans showing up at handshake events holding a different member's uchiwa
    ● when at handshake events or at the sendoff part at the end of theater shows, they would tell her that "...-chan (other member's name) is cute" even though they said they care for "Miku only"
    ● likewise, telling her that "I want to go to ...-chan's (lane) but there's someone like Mikurin..."
All things considered, I think translating 嫌がらせ as harassment here is grossly misleading, perhaps "provocations" would describe the connotations better.
In fact, she also made it clear that she wasn't referring to antis targeting her on purpose, but regular fans of hers, and she followed up with this: "I think that for fans it's much more enjoyable to support the girl they really like. In particular, I have absolutely no intention to force them to support me. That's because I think it's for their own good that fans support the member they like. So I won't stop them from leaving. If you want to go, then please go."

Just came here to drop this piece of information.

^ Well if this is indeed the cause... then actually I'm glad, as it's nowhere near my worse-scenario guess.
@Cisalpine88 I watched up until about the 30-min mark... so if I missed the jist my bad.

Sort of echoing Sasshi's comment... she's been in 48G 10 yrs, so knows what expectations to hold for fans. But Miku probably hasn't learned how flaky and fickle people can be, esp when they feel they're the ones paying your salary.
Hey I don't exclude myself -- look at my sig. It changes regularly... just certain idols earn top rung consistently, and they're 'sacred'... I stress this has never applied to anyone but me, and me only... anyone else is entitled to their own lists.

So to go into idoling with any other expectation of fans, even those that say to your face 'you're the only one for me'? Needs to talk to a top veteran, and get some hints on how to survive your fifth year, never mind your 10th, tbh...
I'd also like to add... remember what happened to Sasshi in her 5th year (2012)...

    Mikurin's playlist right now:

if the video does not show watch the video here

if the video does not show watch the video here

if the video does not show watch the video here

Sorry for dumb post. Chris may delete this if it's inappropriate.

Meanwhile I think. It's very tough. when Mikurin makes front row in an HKT48 single, it became HKT48 single with lowest sales ever. Most would blame Hana but I argue no one to be blamed, I see HKT48 is in decline but there's a chance of revival to happen in the future.

Tbh Mikurin's 5th year with HKT, has been stacked against her quite a bit, fan-choice-wise.

NGT's still soaring into orbit... STU, despite clunky swim-laning of project milestones, is also doing pretty well for not being in existence a year... and Sasshi's got STU and =LOVE now, as well as her wicked-busy regular variety jobs.

So 56 more fresher / arguably more cohesive rivals + lack of in-house mentor + sales disaster = fan flake = despondent Mikurin? Absolutely.

The stress of meeting up to the expection, the fans who said the above, etc ..... the reality really bites deep & hard.

One mistake is to take a break to relax .... I find this a grave mistake as I expect more fans to oshihen and it's more like a comfortable reason for one to "escape" from reality.

She will have to bite her lips and walk through this period of anxiety & self-doubt.

A cruel way of thinking about it but its a fact out there, especially in a world like theirs. The faster she grasp the ideology, the more she will mature and broadens her vision and not to mention, the method to overcome them, use it to her advantage like some of the idols, or looking at the bigger pic or from far .....

Some had fallen while some shone brighter.
Hope Mikurin passes this trial of self assessment.

Sounds like the normal dirty DD comments from fans who often say these things to their oshi

From what I gather I don't think it's the fact that people oshi hen so easily but that they say these things to her. As her fans they aren't really being considerate or may be even trying to tease her. I'm glad that Sashihara made that comment because maybe some just don't know how bad it makes an idol feel. Ofcourse others are just being cruel. But the reality of these behaviors are hard to grasp especially someone as young as Miku, and yes 16 is still young for these type things. Like seriously I'm only just now starting to understand this stuff myself. I'm sure she has reflected over it a lot in the past years but these things take time experience, and guidance I suppose. I don't really understand her attachment to fans as a non idol, but I do hope that she won't give up so that she can learn and grow from the realities of being an idol.

I think someone pointed out a while back that it would seem like a big chunk of her fans actually have Miku as their 2nd or 3rd oshi and that why it comes to ssk they tend to vote for their main oshi instead of her or they give her less votes in comparison of Nako that have more core fans!Sadly it might be why they sometimes makes that type of comments! They like Miku but they might end up mentioning their favs!

Then a lot of her core fans abandoned Nako for this year's SSK... and a bunch apparently thought enough of Miku to take her ranking...

Perhaps just being more sensitive to oshihenning vs. other idols... it's not going away though, so the best she can do is genuinely feel the hurt and learn what she can from it (a call to Sasshi probably wouldn't hurt either) :flower:

Many of you have said what I think is possible but here are some of my thoughts that no one mentioned.

    Age
Let's face it, there are people who only support young members and Mikurin is clearly reaching the expiry date for them. And with the management aggressively pushing young members across all the groups, it's not hard to imagine some of her fans may oshihen.

    Gravure
This is the reason I think has the highest possibility. From the fact that she said it's hard for her to talk about even to her parents. Long time Mikurin fans know that she has a self/family imposed age for mizugi gravure which is 16. Right after she turned 16, she had a series of gravure which are more mature than usual. I can see some asshole who would call her slut for doing that. If this is true, it would definitely deal a huge blow to her mentality. Hell, putting myself in her shoe, at the age of 16, I would probably seep into depression if my fans starts to think I'm a slut because of my gravure.

    Personality
Unlike Nako, Mikurin is slowly transitioning out of the imouto chara. She's becoming more mature in showroom and as stated above, her gravure. She's moving more towards the sexy route now and once again, some jerk of a fan will attack her about it.

    Conclusion
In the end, we are almost sure it's her long time fans that is causing her to be depressed. Idol fans are brutal, especially in Japan. And Miku's sudden surge in popularity and change in personality are most likely the cause. 2017 is a big year for her. She has been looking forward to turning 16 for so long so she can gain the independence she has been craving for. But what she and most of us didn't expect is the backlash that might come with it.

    Just my 2 cents.

She didn't post anything on SNS since her G+ post that she wanted to think calmly. On Twitter, her last tweet was about One Piece, it was tweeted before her heartbreaking Showroom broadcast. :(
