What left an impression on me this year was the preliminary sousenkyo results where I ranked 63rd. In the end results I ranked 96th, but the preliminary results were the first time my name had been called, so I was happy. Until then, I felt like I couldn’t say that I wanted to rank in. So I didn’t know what I should tell my fans. But when I stated that it was my intention for the first time, the sentiment reached the fans. I think that really caused a big change inside of me.

Another thing that I can’t forget is the tour concert in my hometown of Akita. During November of last year we had our live there, and while the day concert ended without any problems, during the night concert, my physical condition became bad and during the second half I ended up throwing up. My memories of that day are rather cloudy… It seems that the other members covered for me at the last minute, and I was really thankful. The next day, I watched a video of that day, and thought about how happy I was to have such a wonderful team. And because we were frustrated at how incomplete the performance was, we were able to safely do a revenge performance in January!

Also, from January this year, my radio program “Tanikawa Hijiri no Tani ga ari, Kawa ga ari, Radio ga ari” has started. I want to become the main MC of Team 8, so this radio is helping me improve my talk abilities, and I think that trying by myself is something that is a good learning experience. I want to become a good tsukkomi!
