What a pity I missed this! My +15 votes would make Mahopyon be in the Top 10 :(

It’s difficult for me to make a ranking for 2023 when so much happens in the idol world during the beginning of the year. I think this is the main reason we used to have this ranking in Nov-December. But here goes…

    01. Oguri Yui (+15) Stage48 Rank 01

Yuiyui is my first choice for the immovable center of the new AKB48. Elegant beauty paired with a quirky personality. Yui can be counted on to say something unexpected on TV and stage. She has a unique perspective on life and a distinct voice that can be easily heard on tracks. She’s super hard-working like Acchan and strange and beautiful like Mayuyu. We all heard Yukirin tell Yuiyui to continue to lead AKB48. Rumor has it Yui still trades texts with Mayuyu.

    02. Yagi Azuki (+10) Stage48 Rank 06

Yagi=g.o.a.t. Greatest of All Time, and my second choice for center. Her stage presence and dance skills are amazing. It’s like her and Yuichi are competing to be the most energetic on stage. Watch the difference in Faint. During spins, both Yukis will lift their toe off the ground and turn gracefully. Azu will bring her leg all the way perpendicular to her pivot leg and execute the fastest turn, her spotting (head-turn) brings her right back to audience every time.

    03. Arai Sae (+9) Stage48 Rank 17

Since Color Contact Wink, I have only met with Sae-chan. She was a little shy at first but is starting to get comfortable with our talks. ColorCon is a 2024 single, so if I have to base this ranking on just 2023, then +9 points for center bob.

    04. Yamamoto Mikana (+8) Stage Rank 44

I had her at rank 02 last year. The AKB48 18th Gen made all the difference. Her face remains a national treasure. She’s solid in the senbatsu line-up but needs to pick up more buzz in Osaka. I got to visit Osaka last year and my impression was that post-covid economic recovery in Kansai is lagging a bit behind Tokyo. In theory, this is creating less opportunity for NMB48 fans to megapush their idols (Sayaka) like in the idol-golden era. Nevertheless, my list is full of Namba Idols. I’m looking forward to the 10th gen and new original stages to get the momentum back in Osaka.

    05. Wada Miyu (+7) Stage48 rank 136

She’s funny and cute. She’s 26 years old in 2023, but her and Shinshin seem to just be hitting their peak.

    06. Aobara Yuka (+6) Stage48 rank 105

Yuka is young and cute. She has good comedic timing. Strong singing and dance skills. Overall, a great addition to NMB48.

    07. Shinzawa Nao (+5) Stage48 rank 105

Another NMB48 idol just hitting her stride in her mid-twenties. She’s so petite that she can easily pull off burriko.

    08. Tanaka Yukino (+5) Stage48 rank 55

Yukino has a great catchphase, a background in hip-hop, confidence and sense of humor. A namba all-rounder.

    09. Sakata Misaki (+4) Stage48 rank 21

Sakatan has fallen in my rankings from last year. She is still as beautiful as ever but seems to have taken a backseat as the group focuses on Mikana. What would idol shikaku have been like with Sakatan as lead?

    10. Uno Mizuki (+4) Stage48 rank 161

Still among the tallest members of NMB48 and 48-grp in general. She an unpredictable sense of humor that confounds her juniors as much as management and fans. If Uno wasn’t an idol I get the feeling she would be 1) pouring bottles of Dom Peri to c-class execs, OR 2) a c-class exec herself.

    11. Ishida Chiho (+4) [105] my favorite drooping eyes girl.

    12. Kohama Kokone (+3) [46] AKB48 needs an enigma. Here she is.

    13. Mizushima Miyuu (+3) [11] my 2023 forehead ranking, my 2024 bangs ranking is 1000. I want to retcon her thread to always having bangs.

    14. Nagano Serika (+3) [161] in Japan, fair skin covers 7 flaws, she is still the fairest.

    15. Kurushima Yuka (+2) [251] newly discovered (may 2022) Setouchi idol. She sings and has a fine nose.

    16. Chiba Erii (+2) [52] my eyes follow her on every televised performance.

    17. Yamauchi Mizuki (+2) [2] lucky zucky has a great smile and her name is a meme.

    18. Hotei Moka (+1) [16] her body is the result of childhood diet of caffeine and sugar. She’s sweeter than a macaron.

    19. Hirata Yuki (+1) [39] when she debuted I thought she was just another pretty face, 2023 showed me she is serious about AKB48. I am impressed by the gap of her appearance and her bedroom is just that of a regular, if fuwa fuwa girl.

    20. Mineyoshi Arisa (+1) [161] Arisa is a living doll.

No negative points given. There were criteria this time around and I didn’t know if physical traits were enough to mark down. I’m wholly superficial but is it really fair to mark down mayopyon because of her pointy head, or gyoten for having man-feet?

Mion didn't make my list for the first time. we watched her mature with the group and possibly had the toughest assignment as soukantoku. but the reason i didn't vote her is because we've met at least 3 different times, 2 in-person and at least once online, and she's always so salty. not rude, just kinda distance. i think she hates me.

I finally got a quiet weekend to sit down and do this, only a month and a bit late [hehe]

    01. 3. (2) [15|0] [AKB] Kashiwagi Yuki {+116,0}, 116 Always been my AKB oshi since I first discovered them way back in 2012! Finally got to see her live in 2023 which merits a full 15 points from me.
    02. 8. (8) [9|1] [N46] Kaki Haruka {+63,-5}, 58 Taken over as my Nogi oshi since Saito Asuka graduated. I thought "Monopoly" was a great W-Centre with Endo, more again in 2024 please.
    03. 136. (120) [1|0] [H46] Sasaki Mirei {+9,0}, 9 My Hina Oshi, always makes me laugh on HinaAi. First gens are starting to graduate though so I'm a bit worried she might go towards the end of this year (I hope not!)
    04. 117. (127) [2|0] [H46] Kosaka Nao {+11,0}, 11 Always liked her as center, she seems such a gentle soul. Was worried when she was on hiatus that she might announce graduation but she seems settled now so hopefully she'll stay for a few more years.
    05. 18. (93) [9|0] [N46] Hayakawa Seira {+44,0}, 44 Loved her ever since Nogizaka doko e and Nogizaka Skits, especially the way she was always so upbeat and through herself into everything. Heartbroken when she announced she was graduating but good for her that she stood up against a bullying culture before she left (I hope that standing up for the Group wasn't what forced her out). Blessed to get a photobook from her as a parting gift. To me, she'll always be "A Perfect Human"!
    06. 55. (41) [5|0] [N46] Sugawara Satsuki {+23,0}, 23 My Nogi 5ki oshi. Something about her appealed to me ever since they debuted. Funny, pretty and love how she embraced the Shokichi nickname on NogiChuu.
    07. 21. (38) [6|0] [N46] Inoue Nagi {+42,0}, 42 A great first center on "Ohitorisama Tengoku"...hoping for more in 2024.
    08. 46. (60) [7|1] [N46] Nakanishi Aruno {+29,-3}, 26 She's totally won me over, love her singing and respect to her for keeping going when there was so much backlash against her from "Actually". Hope she makes Senbatsu this year and hope we see her again as Center at some point (I'd love to see her and Nagi as a W-Centrer this year).
    09. 209. (248) [1|0] [H46] Kanemura Miku {+4,0}, 4 Just something about that I've always liked but can't quite articulate into words!
    10. 161. (350) [2|0] [H46] Miyachi Sumire {+7,0}, 7 My Hina 4ki oshi. SumiLegend....what more is there to say!
11 52. (217) [6|0] [N46] Yumiki Nao {+24,0}, 24 Just hilarious on NogiChuu, one of those often unsung variety queens who quietly continue to deliver.
    12. 84. (46) [5|1] [N46] Iwamoto Renka {+21,-5}, 16 She's been growing on my over the last 12 months, looking forward to seeing more of her this year.
    13. 237. (263) [1|0] [N46] Sakaguchi Tamami {+3,0}, 3 Her smile, her eyes, her gentleness....she's just adorable. So looking forward to her photobook.
    14. 1. (1) [19|0] [AKB] Oguri Yui {+130,0}, 130 Liked her ever since "Hoshizora wo Kimi ni", when she first made me sit up and notice her. And she's been brilliant ever since. If I'd watched "Girl's Drive" last year instead of this, then I'd have placed her higher.....but ultimately she didn't need extra votes from me anyway!
    15. 30. (79) [6|0] [S46] Ozono Rei {+37,0}, 37 Liked her since she debuted and last year was a "Cool" one for her.
    16. 46. (14) [4|0] [S46] Morita Hikaru {+26,0}, 26 Always reliable, always a delight on SokoSaku.
    17. 117. (45) [4|0] [N46] Kitagawa Yuri {+11,0}, 11 Like Seira, I was broken hearted to see her graduate (two of my three 4ki Oshi's going in the same year was hard to take). Just a unique, gentle character.
    18. 251. (183) [2|0] [S46] Onuma Akiho {+2,0}, 2 Another one that's been growing on me over the last year. Always funny on SokoSaku and can handle a fishing boat!
    19. 84. (114) [5|0] [S46] Fujiyoshi Karin {+16,0}, 16 Start Over was great, it's been a joy to watch her blossoming over the last few years since they rebranded as Sakurazaka46. Really come out of her shell now....when she first joined she seemed really withdrawn and I was worried about how she'd cope....I needn't have worried!
    20. 272. (303) [1|0] [H46] Hirao Honoka {+1,0}, 1 Seems quietly dependable, had some really good moments on HinaAi and you can see her eagerness to learn and grow on HinaNari. Looking forward to see what this year brings for her.

Hello, I understand, that Stage48 administration are busy people with career to focus on. Nevertheless, I would have admired, that, if there was an 2024 voting event planned, it would start on January, 1st.
With all the graduation announcement from early 2025, people got a negative bias towards members, they might haved liked and followed the most in 2024. It happens automatically and sometimes unconsciously.

I am not part of the staff. But, if you would explain to me, which tools you use for that event, I would make sure to be able to organize one. I could film everything to provide fairness.

In general I agree with You and I'm looking forward for next edition. Although this forum technical condition became more terrible even than last year. My impression is that 4 or 5 days of the last week forum was offline due to database errors.

Let's be honest, many people already have terminated their activities here due to technical matters and next edition... It will be succes if we can get 30 votes

It can be worse - I don't even know about any problems. Just trying to catch wind of the next voting, and otherwise I'm more of a "cold turkey" wota. Notice, how "current" and "up to date" my signature is.

I think, that my complaint about forum stability has worked. Since that time this forum works smoothly.

Maybe it's the time to do finally the next edition?

Finally logged in for the first time in like 2 months (?) since I just remembered the 2024 ranking hasn't been conducted, and I thought I have missed out completely. Now I don't know if I should be relieved or worried.

But seriously. We (The people helping me) have got the members for the ranking now and I will hopefully begin this next week.
