Did anyone what's Japan Record award? Is it big awards even in japan ?
I heard the Nogi is the biggest nominee to win "New artist award"

 

It's like the Japanese Grammy and the Best Song Award is the most important prize. AKB won it a couple times in their golden years, but not many idols have won it - some examples are Pink Lady in the 70s and my beloved Nakamori Akina in the 80s (she won it two times in a row).
It's also traditionally recorded on December 31st.

I remember watching the dorama version of an episode in the 70s, when Pink Lady won the Best Song Award and Yamaguchi Momoe just said "sorry, got to head to Kouhaku" and left the ceremony lol

Live action is always tough though. Hard to make a good adaptation that pleases the fans.
