2023 was a busy, productive, and fulfilling year for Kubo Shiori. Becoming a taiga actress, appearing in a couple of movies, a serial drama, performing on a stage play, releasing her first photobook, getting her first center position, modeling, TV commercials, and attending several other activities. I'm so proud of her for such a very successful year. So far after the first quarter of this year, it's been fairly quiet compared to last year. But it's also good to slow down a bit and give herself sort of a respite from the busy schedule. I got a little nervous after she graduated from Seventeen. Whenever she decides to call it quits from being an idol, at least I know she will do pretty well in whatever direction she decides to pursue in the future.

It's kind of the opposite for Hayakawa Seira. I miss her and still feel sad about everything that happened which led to her decision to graduate and leave the entertainment industry. She is a member that I feel will have a good career in acting. She has the talent but I guess it's not meant to be. She did what she thinks is best for her. I hope she's happy and I wish her all the best the world could offer.

Two observations.
Firstly, this was a transition year from me as I derived MOST of my enjoyment from Idols from watching AKB new generations, a first year for me where not most of my votes are in HKT. I could've done some symbolic vote in this symbolic event like give Aoi +15 like I did last year but I find that pointless, she's moved on from being an Idol and I also have moved on.

Secondly, THREE of my votes have not been revealed yet and if you put two and two together, you already know who they are. 17-18ki SUPREMACY BAYBEH

First of all, I want to recognise that unexpectedly tomorrow we'll have so beautiful sky!

It was so good year for her. She was announced as new Soukantoku, she played in Girls Drive and get position in UNLAME (as we already know, not for long).

Oh well she is a new mizugi Queen in AKB. Also she has so nice personality and shows to us a lot of energy during her performances. Hope that in 2024 she'll finally become a Senbatsu member.

Bestie of my kami couldn't get lower amount of points. Her connection with Yuiyui, but also solo works were so good. I'm so sad, that she announced graduation from AKB, but I can't do anything about that. Just I'm worried how Yuiyui will cry during Rinrin's graduation stage in the theater

When they debuted I fell in love with all of 17ki but apart from Yukinee there was no single member who I felt was head and shoulders above the others. However when I met the members at the in-person talks I attended last year I noticed that Mizumin was interacting so well with fans, she was showing genuine interest in everybody - including myself! Since the start of this year she has now started to become more much noticeable for me in her performances and I'm certain that next time I'll be placing both her and Yukinee in my top 10.

My all-time favourite member of Team 8 and certainly IMO in more recent years the most beautiful member of AKB. Although I was very sad to see her announce graduation I wasn't too surprised, she's had a very successful 10 years in the group. I'm looking forward to getting her PB which looks like it might be one of the more 'entertaining' books by an AKB48 member.

Kubochan is not only my current Nogi-oshi but also my all-time favourite Sakamichi member. Ever since I had a very lovely HS meeting with her in 2019 I've followed her career very closely including her many acting roles. I enjoyed her 1st PB last year and I was happy to see her W-center - but now that her center partner Zukkii has announced graduation I'm starting to worry that she'll do the same quite soon.

So it looks like I'll have 3 of my voted members in the top 10 including my own top 2.

I did not expect to see so many of my votes go to top10, so only two additions, but one worth a post by itself: Masai Mayuu took me with her Showa vibe, when watching videos with her I feel as if I was watching Onyanko Club, the best parts of it. Very classic, very nostalgic, but far from stale or faded away: vibrant and cheerful. A big plus is her gravure activity, both by it being there at all - and its style. She is sandwiched [in my ranking] between two classics this year, one literal and yet to be revealed, the other being Hinata, who has a very similar profile and goes quite strong after all these years even with my overall idol-related emotions being bleak and lackluster. I left too much with Heisei.

I gave her 4 points! I find Maho interesting, she's a bit too crazy at times though lol I think it's nice that the group can also have someone with this kind of personality, she's doing pretty good in variety! She really got to shine in Sayonara Mouri-san, although that was in 2022 (we need a new regular show like this >.<). I also like Maho's friendship with Erii, they're cute!

I gave her 10 points! She's my favorite member in NMB and one of my most favorites in 48g in general! I'm happy to see that 7 people voted for her, and that she's not only the highest ranked for NMB, but for 48 sister groups too apparently! That's amazing, I'm glad she is getting the love that she deserves. ;w; She's such a great girl, always funny and entertaining, and she's a great performer too, she can dance well, she has a good voice, she has charisma on stage, she's confident... She's also pretty and cute, and I love how she can be cool sometimes and cute at other times ;w; She just has everything! and I'm really happy that she will get to double center the next NMB single! Hopefully more people will get to know her

I gave her 2 points! Back when 17th gen debuted, I liked a lot of them (they were all nice) and I found Hotechan cute, but it's only after some time passed that she somehow became my favorite member in 17th gen. First, I did notice that something about her reminded me of Acchan and I think it's the eyes lol. But generally she doesn't look like Acchan though, but yes! I also love that she's a Rinrin fan because I love Rinrin too, and seeing Hotechan being a fangirl is just so cute! She has a very cute personality in general and she's adorable. ;w; I find her entertaining and always fun to watch, like some of her Showroom moments. I also think her smile is so cute!
