Over 1.3 million sold (1.306 million, subject to rounding), 35th consecutive #1 single and 30th million-selling single. Also breaks 50 million copies sold overall for all of AKB48 releases, now #3 (surpassing Southern All Stars), just behind Ayumi Hamasaki (next single should surpass her for the #2 spot).

Glad Stage48 is back once again.

But glad to see AKB48 has reached 50 million copies mark.

 

How many media performances has NnM have so far?

 

NCon, Music Station, NHK Con, Buzz Rhythm, Music Fair, CDTV, AKBShow, about 2 or 3 of them have full senbatsu appearing. They are set to appear again in MSta this week and I am hoping they do full senbatsu, last Msta only has media senbatsu.

 

There's also Utacon, Momm!!, Akbingo so around 10 media performances so far. This song has been promoted way more on TV compared to Tsubasa (probably cause the song was a flop with the public/fandom).

The AKBingo one is the one with Satopii and Yuiyui center, right? Satopii for sure, but I'm not sure for the latter.

Yeah, honestly, I originally started with Ayumi Hamasaki when I started my venture into J-pop ten years ago (at that time AKB48 was pretty much unknown to me). I kinda feel bad for those fans since then, especially the fact that she has a deaf left ear and just recently hearing her remaining non-deaf ear is starting to go deaf...

That - a few hundred people to take down Ayumi Hamasaki - that feels really bad. But I'm thinking this is a generational gap - the surrounding environment Ayumi Hamasaki was during her time of success (early 2000s) isn't the same as AKB48's...

I can only speak from a UK/US point of view but the only AKB song we have on Spotify is sugar rush

If it's not available in your country by now, it never will. The only song that is available in my country via Spotify or iTunes is Sugar Rush as well.

 

Hahaha... I'm kind of inbetween both cases because the other AKB singles and albums like Shoot Sign and Thumbnail are available for me, I just don't see NnM.

I'm from Singapore, if that makes a difference?

Ah I'm jealous. I wish some of their songs were available here lol it'd make it a lot easier for me to listen to them, especially in times when stage48 is down again

 

And people still insist on saying AKB is dying.

 

If you just look at the reported sales numbers then of course it would seem that there's no problem.
