Now, imagine you're not an AKB fan, probably a Sakamichi one. You decided to give AKB a shot, considering the show's title. For 30 minutes you saw a recap of AKB's history, with the people that you already knew and left the group a long time ago. When the show is about to end and you're interested in the senbatsu announcement, they show the full senbatsu for like five seconds, before you can even see who they are. "Maybe they're going to show them one by one now". Kono bangumi wa...

 

I joined when I became a Nogi fan but I only started paying attention to AKB a few months ago

I’m particularly happy that Yokochan is in. I find her deserving senbatsu slots a long time ago but nonetheless it’s finally here

 

I remember a time when the AKB senbatsu was filled with good looking girls, no wonder Nogizaka surpassed them.

 

No Team 8 is in. 7 from Team A, 3 from Team K (poor), 4 from Team B and 4 from Team 4. Justice for Team 8.

 

I like the Senbatsu line-up, especially I'm really happy that Megu and Miu are part of it. I'm really looking forward to this release (I didn't really follow AKB48 the last 2-3 years).

 

I think 18 is a good senbatsu number because 5-6-7 is a great formation

 

"Ne mo Ha no nai" means unfounded, but there is no 'nai' in this title. 'nai' is usually used to make something negative (in this case, it would be translated as the un- part), so the lack of it suggests it means something more like "founded rumour." That sounds a bit weird in English, but I think when the lyrics are out, it might make more sense.

I love Macharin and it makes me so sad she hasn't had a senbatsu since Jabaja! If we had a 21-nin senbatsu, I would love for Macharin, Komiharu and Seina or Sahho to be part of it. I'm mostly sad about Komiharu not being included.

Not quite. The literal meaning of ‘ne mo ha mo’ is ‘either root or leaf’, so ‘ne mo ha mo nai’ meaning unfounded rumor goes from a literal meaning of ‘there's neither root or leaf to that’, I guess a metaphor of a plant. So ‘ne mo ha mo rumor’ would give a literal meaning of ‘both root and leaf are rumor’, which to me suggests the idea of ‘uncertain’, a little less strong than unfounded. Key to the grammar here is that normally the subject comes first; if there was a ‘no’ in between then your interpretation would be possible, ‘ne mo ha mo no rumor’ sounds a little weird but in this case the no makes the left part a subclause modifying the right, so it would be a rumor with root and leaf… without the no it's the other way around, it's the root and leaf that are rumor.

(By the way the original expression is ‘ne mo ha mo nai’, not ‘no’.)

I like the senbatsu apart from Yuihan who I believe could be dropped for someone like Nagi or Manaka.But more importantly after all the buzz,They Picked Miu,Rei and Eri over Mahopyon . wth ?

 

Never said she shouldnt be in senbatsu, but I dont think she should center.
