I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere but does anyone here speak Mandarin? Or even Cantonese, I guess, because they sometimes put subtitles in stuff to make sure all Chinese people understand it...

 

A long time ago someone told me that it was because of literacy, but I never looked into it so I'm not sure.

Shen YunZhu(Passed Team SH audition, but didn't sign the contract because of school) is now a student of YG X Academy.

 

I pray that in December 3rd the management explain the system of AKBCHINA, we don't know exactly if we may have a team in a team or the generation.. l have a lot of questions with no answers

 

I know this. I was hoping that someone would be able to do translating so I figured since they sub most shows with the characters, speakers of either language would be able to translate.

That is not true. While most Cantonese speakers will understand a Mandarin video with Chinese subtitles (won’t work vice versa unless it’s subbed in “standard” Chinese), the written language is not really the same. For example, if you wanna say someone is pretty, you would say 你好靚 in Cantonese. However, in Mandarin, you would say 你很漂亮. There are also common phrases in Cantonese that can’t be translated. Can’t talk about Taiwanese because I cannot speak nor understand it.

Is there not a lot of Chinese people here? Or like Mandarin speaking people? So far I've noticed a lot of the people I've spoken to are Westerners. I can try to translate if there's anything, just tell me first

Since this is an English-only forum, there really is mainly English speakers. There may be lurkers who speak other languages but the majority speaks English. I mean, what’s the point of joining a forum if you can’t read or understand anything.
